Explain the difference between inching and jogging.
Expert Solution & Answer
To determine
The difference between inching and jogging.
Explanation of Solution
Jogging:
Jogging is to start a motor with short nudges of power at full voltage. Jogging should not exceed 5 times in a minute and if frequently done, the starter of the motor will be de-rated.
Inching:
Inching is similar to jogging but at reduced voltage. Inching is to start a motor with short nudges of power at reduced voltage.

11. Bicycle tires for street racing are very narrow. Why aren't they made wider if the bicycle needs to have a large
amount of friction to grip the road during the race? (Your answer must relate to friction, but you may add other
ideas as well.)
Please explain clearly the following situation:
i) A car was designed with two conditions (1) sharp corners and (2) resemble an ellipse.
Which car more likely to be more fuel efficient and why?
ii) A bicyclist was tried to move faster by positioning his body into two different positions
(1) keeps head and body in the most upright position and (2) leans down and brings
body closer to the knees. Suggest the best position and why?
A crate is located in the center of a
flatbed truck. The truck accelerates to
the east, and the crate moves with it,
not sliding at all. What is the direction of
the friction force exerted by the truck
on the crate?
To the West Because the only horizontal force..
To the East Because the only horizontal force .
No friction force exists because the crate is n.
No friction force exists because the crate is b.

A test car furnished with antilock braking system stops at 88 m distance when brakes are applied at 100 km/h speed while travelling down a 3% grade on a test track with poor, wet pavement. During one of the tests at the same speed, the test car impacted an object at 100 m distance from the point of brake application on the same test track. The investigators found out that the antilock brake system failed 60 m after the brakes had been applied. What speed was the car travelling at just before it impacted the object? Notes: i.
