Summary Introduction
The sternum is a breastbone and is placed at the center chest. It forms the front of the rib cage by connecting with the rib through the cartilage. It is a flat and long bone that also support the collar bone. Sternum comprises three parts namely manubrium, body and xiphoid process and it develops from the cartilaginous bars located at both sides of the ribs.
