Lewis dot structures show the bonding between atoms of a molecule and lone pair of electrons that may exist in the molecule. This structure can be drawn for any covalently bonded molecule and coordination compounds. A single bond is formed by sharing of two electrons, double bond by sharing of four electrons and triple bond by sharing of 6 electrons.
