What is the wave length, in nm, of a light wave with a frequency of 4*10^15 Hz?
Problem-1:
An asteroid is hurtling toward earth at 150,000“. The temperature of the asteroid is about 100 K, meaning that its peak emission
is 2 = 29 µm. The speed of light is c =
3E[8].
a) What is the wavelength of light that we receive from the asteroid? (Answer: 2.89855E[-05] m)
For question ii) I received an answer of 0.75cm. But I'm a bit confused as would it not be 1 ? As the x ray intensity is 200, half of that is 100, if we go across from 100 and down we get 1, not 0.75. Please advise.
