Question

Where are goblet cells present?

Expert Solution
Step 1

The goblet cells are columnar simple goblet shaped like epithelial cells. These cells secrete the gel forming mucin. The goblet cells secrete vesicle into the duct by merocrine method but can also use apocrine methods for budding off the secretion. The goblet cell is named due to their goblet like shape. The apical portion is cup like shape while basal portion is shaped like a stem.
