SUMMARY: Direct information technology systems and strategies by performing the following
duties.
Identify technology solutions to meet business needs.
• Identify the technological needs of the organization.
• Direct continuous review of present systems and methods.
• Examine new systems and methods that may better meet business
• Determine appropriate changes to effect improvements, reduce costs, and enhance
efficiency.
Incorporate technology solutions.
• Direct the design and implementation of the IT division’s outputs.
• Ensure the implementation of new technology in a manner that most efficiently and
effectively meets business needs.
• Direct the development and implementation of policies, regulations, and procedures for
progressive, efficient and cost-effective information and telecommunication services.
• Oversee or direct the negotiation of all IT contracts.
Direct strategic planning for the IT division.
• Analyzes strategic and operational requirements as they relate to IT systems.
• Develop short-range and long-range plans for providing effective and efficient
technology systems.
• Direct company-wide systems planning and prioritization.
Manage other IT managers and telecommunications staff.
• Directly manage subordinate managers.
• Complete all typical management duties (recruit/hire and orient new staff, coach/train
staff, provide feedback/recognition, support company policies, give performance reviews,
hold staff accountable, complete necessary paperwork, schedule staff, control expenses
and turnover, conduct staff meetings, oversee mission and measures, work on process
improvements, etc.).
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business administration
or related field required.
• 10+ years of software development, computer operations systems, and voice/data
communications experience.
• 5+ years of senior level management experience in an IT environment.
Computer Skills:
• Software applications to include, but not limited to, database, design/development,
Internet, inventory, human resources systems, and accounting systems.
• Ability to use e-mail, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must
be met by a staff member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Frequent sitting, talking, and hearing.
• Occasional standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
