The significant features of the Hydrogeology cycle are:

Precipitation: The atmospheric discharge of water in the form of solid, liquid from the earth surface is called precipitation. The distribution of water on the surface and sub surface is governed by the duration and intensity of the precipitation.

Evaporation and transpiration: The process by which the water is returned to the atmosphere is called evaporation. The factors that affect the rate of evaporation are radiation, temperature, humidity, wind, pressure, water quality, shape and size of evaporation surface.
