Please read the scenario first

THE REMAINING QUESTIONS ARE BASED ON THIS
SCENARIO:
Tiny College wants to set up a database to record details about staff, their offices, and the
departments they belong to. They need to record the following information:
• For each member of staff, their staff identity number, name, job title, and email address.
• For each department, its name and address.
• For each office, the room number and telephone number.
• Each member of staff belongs to at least one department.
• Each department has one head of department, and that staff member can only be the

head of one department.
· Each staff member has one office. An office can be shared by many staff members.
Note that each staff member's identity number is unique and will never be reused. Each staff
member also has a unique email address that will never be shared or reused.
Suppose that this is my first attempt at the Entity Relationship Diagram:
During my analysis I identified a relationship between Staff and Department, and was able to
describe the relationship in both directions:
"Each staff member can belong to one or more departments. Each department has one or more
staff members."
This analysis is correct, and appears in the diagram as the many-many relationship between Staff
and Department.
However, in order to implement a relational database we must remove that many-many
relationship and replace it with something else.

Explain how you would introduce a new entity to achieve that.
