While the safety of women has been an issue in society for the longest time, in the last two or three decades, the matter seems to have gone out of control. Crime has started to take different forms and dealing with it has become all the more challenging. There is a feeling that when it comes to safety, the matter is either not taken seriously or for every two steps that society takes forward, they come one step back with a crime against women.
One of the most heinous crimes against anybody is rape. Violating someone's personal space and their consent should bear heavy consequences however, it is often found that society often resorts to the easiest option - victim-blaming, instead of blaming the perpetrator. The victim is the one who is stigmatized instead of the perpetrator.
