INSTRUCTION
Students need to create a website using PHP and SQL Server (open source) as database. The
website is about this problem:
You are the owner of a Bureau De Change (Money Changer). At the moment, you have five
branches throughout Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, namely at KLIA, Setia Alam City Mall,
Alamanda Mall in Putrajaya, KL Sentral and KLCC. You specialize in these currencies:
EUR (Euro)
GBP (British Pound)
SGD (Singapore Dollar)
IDR (Indonesian Rupiah)
INR (Indian Rupee)
KRW (Korean Won)
JPY (Japanese Yen)
CNY (Chinese Yuan)
USD (US Dollar)
THB (Thai Baht)
SAR (Saudi Rial)
Those currencies can be bought and sold in exchange with MYR (Malaysian Ringgit).
When a customer has MYR and wanting USD, the outlet is selling the foreign currency, thus will
be using the Selling Rate. (You SELL the foreign currency; the customer BUYS it).
Conversely, the outlet is buying the foreign currency, thus will be using the Buying Rate. (You
BUY the foreign currency; the customer SELLS it).
In normal circumstances, the Buying Rate is always lesser than the Selling Rate.
In each outlet, you have a certain amount in each currency in stock. For instance, the KLCC
branch may be having USD1000, while in KLIA you may have USD3000 when the outlet opens
at any time of day. This holds true for the amount of MYR that the outlet has in stock.
Customers may check through a website that you are going to build for any amount either in MYR
or any foreign currency that the customer requires to buy.
Every single amount in stock should be in the database.
A customer will be using your website to check if the amount he needs to buy or sell can be
transacted for the day. It all depends on the availability of the stock in each and every outlet. The
website will be able to "inform" the customer if he can go and do the transaction required. If the
amount can be transacted, the customer may do a booking so that the amount can be "locked"
such that he can do the buying or selling with the chosenoutlet.
Keep the information of the customer and the amount transacted in the foreign currency and in
MYR in the database.
Reconcile the amount that you have so that whatever amount of money at the outlet can be
brought forward for the next day.
