Expert Solution
Introduction

One of the most critical communication skills in clinical practise, particularly in oncology, is empathy. In nurses' responsibilities, empathic abilities have a vital value for caring and therapeutic relationships. Clinical empathy leads to better results, as patients' emotions are more easily detected and communicated.

For everyone involved, cancer is a terrifying event. Many people are frightened by illness and death. When faced with unpleasant situations, it is sometimes more difficult for the caregiver to deal than it is for the patient. It's natural to experience sadness, fear, discomfort, or even guilt as a result of being healthy.

Some people get so uncomfortable being around a sick or suffering loved one that they withdraw or disappear entirely. Others may stay present, but it is very awkward for them. Alternatively, they may unintentionally say things that irritate them.
