Her study consisted of placing a screen between a subject's eyes and hands. For several trials, she hovered her hand over one of theirs, flipping a coin each time to decide which hand to hold hers over. She then asked the practitioner to decide which of their hands her hand was near to see whether or not the practitioner could detect Emily's energy field.
