Part 1 – Conducting a Repeated Measures ANOVA Manually
You will use the following data to go step-by-step through a hypothesis test, by hand, for the DASS Stress subscale pre/post/follow-up data mimicked from the Rackoff et al. article (2022). A sample of n = 585 college students were selected to participate in the study. In the sample, all students took a the DASS measure pre-intervention, post-intervention, and one month following intervention. The data necessary for you to complete this hypothesis test is provided in the table below.

Research Question:
Is there a significant difference change in stress from pre-intervention to post-intervention to follow-up as measured by the DASS stress subscale?
Step 1 à State your hypotheses
State both your null and alternative hypotheses in the space below.

- You work for a company that produces electronics with integrated circuits. One of your products is called a "shift register." This product is designed to automatically shut down if its operating temperature exceeds 175 degrees Celsius. The manufacturing process has been designed to have a standard deviation of o = 0.4 degrees Celsius. You test a random sample 20 shift registers, and you record the following shut- down temperatures. Let’s say that you look up q, calculate HSD value, and you get HSD = 3.92. - A clinical trial is planned to compare an experimental medication designed to lower blood pressure to a placebo. Before starting the trial, a pilot study is conducted involving eight participants. The objective of the study is to assess how systolic blood pressure changes over time untreated. Systolic blood pressures are measured at baseline and again 4 weeks later Is there a statistically significant difference in blood pressures over time? Run the test at a 5% level of significance. Give each of the following to receive full credit: 1) the appropriate null and alternative hypotheses; 2) the appropriate test; 3) the decision rule; 4) the calculation of the test statistic; and 5) your conclusion including a comparison to alpha or the critical value. You MUST show all your work to receive full credit. Partial credit is available. Their mean weight was 24.4 pounds with standard deviation 5.3 pounds. A pediatrician claims that the mean weight of one-year-old boys is greater than 25 pounds. Do the data provide convincing evidence that the pediatrician's claim is true? Use the α = 0.10 level of significance and the P-value method with the TI-84 Plus calculator. Compute the P-value.
