Name the common reservoirs of rabies.
Rabies: It’s a viral disease spread through infected animals to humans.
Rabies virus after entering the body affects central nervous system. Its incubation period is at least 10 days. Its considered as fatal as it causes inflammation of brain and spinal cord.
An infected person shows signs of infection after 1-3 month. These symptoms are non-specific. Symptoms includes nausea, vomiting, fever, headache etc.
When infection is at its full fledge, severe neurological symptoms are seen such as- insomnia, hallucinations, hydrophobia, anxiety, paralysis of lower leg etc.
It can be prevented by taking vaccine against it.
