I tested organism growth on the MSA plate for strep. pyongenes, strep. pneumonia, s. aureus, and straph. epidermidis and my results were that streptococci organism did not grow or change color and the s.aureus changed color (yellow) and s.epi there was no change in color but they both showed growth. 1. If an unknown gram-positive bacterium was given, what would it mean if it grew on MSA? Name the organisms used above My answer: that it would be either s.aureus or s. epidermis because they are selective for salt-tolerant bacteria and can grow on mannitol 2. what would it mean if it both grew on MSA and turned yellow? Can you add to my answer or correct it. Thank you!
