Four types of measurement levels are as follows:
- Nominal level: It consists of categories in which, the data is not arranged in a specific order. This level of measurement is used for giving names and categorizing items without following any type of ordering.
- Ordinal level: It consists of categories in which, the data is arranged in a specific order. This level of measurement is used for giving names and categorizing items and has ordering of items.
- Interval level: It consists of ordered values and also contains one more property of having equal distances or intervals between the values. An interval scale does not contain the values for absolute zero. In this level of measurement, the differences between the numbers are meaningful.
- Ratio level: It also consists of ordered values and equal distances or intervals between the values with one more property which contains an absolute zero point in the values. In this level of measurement, the ratio of a number is meaningful.
