I have worked out part A but need help to work out part B. The notes say it can be done using technology- can you please show me using the Ti-84 plus. Please use step by step. if this calculator is not able to perform the functions can you do manually and again step by step? Thank you Assume that females have pulse rates that are normally distributed with a mean of=73.0beats per minute and a standard deviation of =12.5 beats per minute. a. If 1 adult female is randomly selected, find the probability that her pulse rate is less than 80 beats per minute. The probability is 0.7123 (Round to four decimal places as needed.) b. If 4 adult females are randomly selected, find the probability that they have pulse rates with a mean less than 80 beats per minute. What is the probability?
Continuous Probability Distributions
Probability distributions are of two types, which are continuous probability distributions and discrete probability distributions. A continuous probability distribution contains an infinite number of values. For example, if time is infinite: you could count from 0 to a trillion seconds, billion seconds, so on indefinitely. A discrete probability distribution consists of only a countable set of possible values.
Normal Distribution
Suppose we had to design a bathroom weighing scale, how would we decide what should be the range of the weighing machine? Would we take the highest recorded human weight in history and use that as the upper limit for our weighing scale? This may not be a great idea as the sensitivity of the scale would get reduced if the range is too large. At the same time, if we keep the upper limit too low, it may not be usable for a large percentage of the population!
