Pandemic has affected several sector of life in terms of health care. However, Woman of color are especially likely to bear the brunt of this public health crisis. As a result of historical discrimination, women of color face the increased challenges associated with both their gender and reproductive health.
Black women are more likely to die from pregnancy-related complications than white women. This was studied according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Lack of access to care and poor quality of care during pregnancy and child birth play a significant role in deteriorating woman's reproductive health, particularly among women at lower socioeconomic levels. These conditions are made worse during situation of Pandamic such as COVID19. They are not monitored as carefully as white women are. When they do present with symptoms, they are often dismissed.
