The biomolecules which have carboxylic and amine group containing monomer units are known as proteins. The monomer units of protein are known as amino acids. The chiral carbon atom of amino acid is bonded to amine group, carboxylic group, hydrogen atom and alkyl group.

Step 2

The monomeric units of protein, amino acids, exhibit geometric isomerism at peptide bond. The geometric isomers have same molecular formula but difference structural arrangement of atoms. The proteins that have different structural arrangement of atoms have different physical and chemical properties.
