Figure Q3(c) shows the system in producing the Melaka sugar. The process begins with the mix of raw material (sugar, coconut milk and coconut juice) in the cooking pot. The cooking process of the raw material is for 2 hours, with a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius. After 2 hours, the cooked raw material will be transfered to the mixer tank. The control valve controls the amount of raw material into the mixer tank. During the mixing

Figure Q3(c) shows the system in producing the Melaka sugar. The process begins with
the mix of raw material (sugar, coconut milk and coconut juice) in the cooking pot. The
cooking process of the raw material is for 2 hours, with a temperature of 200 degrees

control valve controls the amount of raw material into the mixer tank. During the mixing
process, the temperature has to be maintained at 80 degrees Celsius with the stirrer
continuously rotated to mix the raw material. The mixing process continues to achieve
the desired viscosity. After that, the nozzle will open and fill the mold. The control valve
- 17 -
controls the amount of mixture to be filled in the mold. The conveyor system will
transfer the filled mold to the next process. As a technologist, you are responsible for
automating the system. Identify SIX (6) sensors/transducers in order to automate the
system. Sketch the diagram and identify the position of the sensors. Each suggested
sensor and its function that is explained in details will represent two marks.
