explain the different parts of the Parvovirus lifecycle when it infects a host cell.

Expert Solution
Step 1

Parvovirus B19 (B19) was discovered in 1974 and is the only member of the family Parvoviridae known to be pathogenic in humans. The B19 virion has a simple structure composed of only two proteins and a linear, single-strand DNA molecule. The nonenveloped viral particles show icosahedral symmetry, and often both empty and full capsids. The virion is composed of 60 copies of capsomer, and both negative and positive strands of DNA are packaged. the surface of B19lacking prominent spike. The limited DNA content and the absence of a lipid envelope make B19 extremely resistant to physical inactivation.  Inactivation of virus may be achieved by formalin, β-propiolactone, and gamma irradiation
