Question

Explain More on Expressions in while Statements.

Expert Solution
Step 1

WHILE expression

  • The while loop is referred to as an "entry-controlled loop" that evaluates the expression first and then process the statements within the loop. The body of the loop executes only when the expression evaluates to true.
  • Whenever while statement encounters in the program, the expression evaluates and if its result is true then the statements in the body of the loop will execute. The loop statements execute repeatedly until the expression becomes false.
  • The expression in the while statement returns a boolean value that is either true or false after evaluation.
  • An expression evaluates to true only when its result is non-empty and holds non-zero values. The expression is false for the empty results.
  • There can be more than one conditional expression in a while loop.
  • The expression in the while statement should be defined properly otherwise the loop can execute infinitely.
