RNA polymerase III (Pol III), is the largest in size among the three polymerases, transcribes a range of non-coding RNAs which are short, which includes 5S rRNA and tRNAs, as well as other small RNAs including snoRNAs, snRNAs, SINEs, Y RNA, 7SL RNA, and U6 spliceosomal RNA. In response to changes in development of cell, stress and cell proliferation, Pol III-mediated transcription is extremely dynamic and controlled.
