The following is the architectural specification for the second floor of a three-story call center building:
Slab thickness is 200 mm.
Floor finish is ceramic tile on 13-mm mortar.
● Ceiling underneath the slab is gypsum with metal suspension system.
● Between the slab and ceiling is the space for HVAC pipes.
OBJECTIVE:
Design beams B6 and B9 against shear and torsion with material properties: f'c = 35 MPa, fy= 415MPa.
Consider the beams to be monolithic with the adjacent slabs. Assume that the live load is on all the slabs.
