As future pharmacists, what is your stand on food supplement?
Step by step
Solved in 2 steps
- What are dietary supplements and in what situations are they "good" for you? In what situations are they "bad" for you?Can anyone help explain to me the types of settings in which dietitians and medical technologies are traditionally found and how these are changing today?Considering the health benefits of carbohydrate-rich foods, especially those that provide whole grains and fiber, what suggestions would you offer to a client who reports the following? Be sure to explain WHY!! I am clueless... :) Eats only 3 ounces of refined, sugary breads or cereals each day. Eats 1 cup of vegetables (usually french fries) each day. Drinks fruit juice once a day but never eats fruit. Eats cheese at least twice a day but does not drink milk. Eats large portions of meat at least twice a day. Eats hard candy two or three times a day.
- You are playing the role of a dietician and have a 54-year-old patient who has been instructed by his doctor to become ‘healthier’ and make more healthier food choices. Your 54-year-old patient is 5’10, 246lbs. His BMI (body mass index) is 30.5, which puts him in the obese range. He has a family history of heart disease and colon cancer. His doctor measured his blood pressure and it is higher than normal for someone his age and gender. His doctor has advised him to maintain a healthier lifestyle to reduce his risk of complications as he gets older. You are a nurse in a free community clinic continually treating patients who, for one reason or another, do not access healthful foods. Every body system is affected by poor nutrition, yet it is very difficult to communicate the importance of balanced nutrition to your patients from every age group. What would you include in your teaching plan about healthful foods?some ethical benefits and rewards with providing sustainable food and health care?.
