Blood is the main circulating fluid of the body. The heart is the pumping organ which pumps the blood throughout the body through the vascular system. The circulatory system which circulates the blood throughout the body for the exchange of oxygen and nutrients is called the cardiovascular system. The human heart is situated almost in the middle of the thoracic cavity in a space called the mediastinum. Various diseases or conditions affect the normal functioning of the cardiovascular system. Addison disease is associated with a decreased production of glucocorticoid and mineralocorticoid hormones by the adrenal glands. These glands are mostly responsible for producing hormones responsible for fight or flight response.
