John Nichols (1745–1826)

Nichols, John. An English essayist and miscellaneous prose-writer; born in London, 1745; died in 1826. He was one of the publishers of the Gentleman’s Magazine, and wrote ‘History and Antiquities of Leicestershire’ (1795–1811), and ‘Literary Anecdotes of the Eighteenth Century’ (1812–15).
