Jason Rockwood Orton (1806–1867)

Orton, Jason Rockwood. An American poet, physician, and miscellaneous writer; born in Hamilton, NY, in 1806; died in Brooklyn, NY, Feb. 13, 1867. Besides contributions to periodicals, he published: ‘Poetical Sketches’ (1829); ‘Arnold, and Other Poems’ (1854); ‘Camp-Fires of the Red Men’ (1855); ‘Confidential Experiences of a Spiritualist’ (1858).
