After this very successful period of Carson’s life, his work began to attract wider audiences: it was featured by many mainstream publications, including the New York Times in May 1994, and Newsweek Magazine in 1996. The main comments from the publications were how Carson stood out for his ability to communicate in mass-media print with a new graphic language, one that worked on a level beyond words. RAY-BAN SHEET His commercial clients included major American brands such as Pepsi Cola, Nike, Levi-Strauss, Microsoft, Budweiser, Giorgio Armani, Ray-Ban and NBC. This particular advert for Ray-Ban sunglasses is a good use of a visual pun. The product was called Ray-Ban Orbs, and here you can see that he uses the sunglasses as the ‘O’ of the word. This idea was also used across posters, print ads and postcards. As you can see in the corner of this ad, unlike the majority of designers, Carson likes to show the reader that he is the designer and insists on most of his ads to carry his name. This use of self-advertising is particularly useful because Carson has seen the opportunity to publicise his name and to show people that he is linked with major brand companies. You may also note that his name is more prominent than the actual Ray-Ban logo and that it appears directly below the logo. By doing this, Carson may feel that his name is more of an

Gabriel Tanner as the mysterious creepy guy makes for a good plot beat but make the sequence more suspenseful and tense. Chris notices him, but then goes on his way. Have Gabriel appear to be stalking him. Maybe Chris gets to his car, and Gabriel taps on his shoulder and Chris jumps. First, tease the audience with his uneasy feeling, he dismisses it, and then Gabriel appears. This will elevate the tension more than Chris approaching Gabriel. Cut the dialogue “Hey. Creepy guy standing in the back of a room…”

With this advertisement from the “Legends Never Hide” campaign, Ray Ban boards the bandwagon of modern advertisements in both style and substance, using a short, bold statement and a seemingly simple picture to promote their brand. Their message, aimed at the ever-growing audience of young people, liberals, and the wealthy, establishes an understanding and a connection between the company and their own problems as they struggle to fit in to society and worry about how to present themselves. With this ad, Ray Ban attempts to set itself apart from the rest of the pack by proving that the people who wear Ray Bans are the ones with enough confidence to stand up for themselves and fight for their personal rights, all while looking great in their
Introduction: Throughout the book of Into The Wild Chris McCandless is known to be a wacko reckless idiot, and is also known to be courageous and heroic. However does a courageous person go out into the wilderness knowing that the outcome will be fatal? People viewed him from different perspectives and also have broad range of opinions of this young man. Some deemed him to be incredibly dim-witted or a man that simply just followed his heart. Evidence shows that Chris McCandless is actually a mix of both. The first opinion that described McCandless was brainless, idiotic, and extremely foolish. Many passages from Into The Wild can support this outlook.
