SUDDEN INFANT DEATH (SIDS) is the term used to describe the sudden and unexpected death of a healthy baby or toddler that is initially unexplained. It is sometime called as 'Cot or Crib death' beacause infants often die in their cot or cribs.

Below is a list of things for parents on the safety precautions which can minimise the risk of SIDS.

DO. :-

-Always place baby on their back to sleep.

-Place baby in the "feet to foot" position with their feet touching the end of the cot, Moses basket, or pram). Reason behind this is that if baby is not sleeping in 'feet to foot' position then baby might roll and cover himself with blanket which can lead to death. This position will prevent baby from rolling under blanket.

-Keep baby’s head uncovered.
