You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! directed by professor James Bond at the Miami Dade College Kendall Campus was one of the more memorable theatrical plays that I have come across. I attended the play on April 21, 2018, at 8:10 PM. My overall first impressions were fairly confident. No negative hints caught my attention, and if there were (of course nothing is perfect), then these blots were not noticeable. You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! at the Miami, Dade Campus took place in a “black-box theatre.” A suitable choice for the type of place being presented. The aesthetic distance was easy to give into, the divide between the audience and the actors was proper. I arrived at the show just a little late, I was not able to see the first musical number, though not too much of an ordeal. My pre-show mood was very calm and pleased. I was treated very well by the greeter, which added on to my relaxed demeanor. The play was set outdoors, this is easy to figure out because of the doghouse, and the green stage. Though, there were certain activates like watching television and clicking the dial on the remote that indicated an indoors feeling. But, this did not break my verisimilitude. There are not many indicators as to when the play took place, though from what I could gather it is the last 1950’s or really 1960’s. A play is more than satisfactory when the music is playing nonstop in your head. Especially when the play is over and you are singing in the parking lot.
The Genre of the play was set as a comedy, though there were underlining tones of

The elements in the play were wonderful and inclusive to a satisfying show. With the materials and space available, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown! was given an excellent performance. One thing that I would like to see though is the inclusion of more of the Peanuts cast if possible. It is not necessary, though it would bring a different touch to the
Sadly when I arrived at the theater I was not even sure I would be able to focus on the show, for my mother who was meant to see this production with me yet was unable to. Due to unforeseeable circumstances that neither one of us could for see and so with all of this hanging over head I was really hoping to get a laugh from this play, which it did. This was not the first time that I had come to see a play at Boise Little Theater, but definitely this was the first time that I had done it on my own. Which was a tad
Broward College, Central Campus Theater in building 6, on Sunday, the 1st of November. The play was performed by Broward College students. The type of stage was Proscenium stage with extended apron. I thought it was a little bit small, but it did not show as a problem. The pre-show was dark and a feel of suspense. I felt excited to see how everything would play out. The play takes place down south of Chicago in the 1950’s.
On February 26th 2016, I went out with my friend to saw this event. It was the first time of my life to be in such production. I was not a fan of theaters. I thought they are boring. Now, my mind has changed because the play was amazing. So, on the next day,
About a month ago, my friend invited me to a play on campus that he was going to be staring in. The play was titled, In the Red and Brown Water, and it was located at the Annex theatre. I was curious to know what the play was about so that I can get an idea of what to expect. He mentioned that it is a detailed representation of black culture in the projects of Louisiana. Being that I am an African American male who was raised in a predominately white community, my interest in going to this play suddenly grew. The only knowledge I have about the projects is through media and knowing the general stereotypes of an inner-city area. When I attended the play, I had a fantastic learning experience, and noticed several connections to the texts that we study in the course.
One of the main magic’s of the theatre is for the audience to go into it unaware of what they will see, and exit with a whole new view in mind. This is still possible in jukebox musicals even if the audience member is familiar with some of the songs. Songs, text, and all literature can be interpreted in different ways based on the individual. Theatre is meant for all different people to enjoy. Some may like going to a show featuring songs that their favorite artists wrote or that speak to a memorable time of their life. It becomes a discussion about how the audience can relate to the characters.
This was the first play or theatre performance that I have attended. I was unsure of what to expect, but I heard great things about this play. Furthermore, the first aspect of this production that caught my attention was the design of the set. The design gave the feeling of a run down urban neighborhood by making the outer parts of the stage look like an old brick building. The building looked like one you would find in a low-income area or projects. The scenery of the play set the stage for what type of production this would be. I especially liked the way they carefully chose not to place just any kind of props on the stage. The dusty
The relationship and energy that the audience had towards the performance made a large impact on my enjoyment of the play. Since A Christmas Story is such a popular movie, hundreds of people came out and packed the theatre! The doors to the theatre did not open until a half hour before, so there was a large line that wrapped around the building, despite it being cold people were very upbeat and excited; many families had on matching Christmas sweaters, children worse their pajamas, and some people when wore Santa hats,
As we dressed for the show, my thoughts were flooded with images and ideas. We descended the hotel stairs, hailed a taxi, and arrived at the theatre; while I remained in a pleasant daze. My first impression of the Nederlander met and exceeded all my expectations. I had envisioned an old theater, forgotten by the Broadway elite. As we walked to the door, we were able to see the wall signed by the cast and photos of the premier. The theater itself had a rundown feel to it and left you with the distinct impression that the magic was within the walls and on stage. As we entered the doors, I soaked in every thing. Our seats were located in the center, orchestra section, which gave us a perfect view of all the action.
As my horse stepped in the desert. He screamed loud and ran fast took all my belongings, now I am homeless i looked around but no one was there the only thing that I had was a map, I looked at the map then i started walking towards the west which is towards the town. I walked down the burning desert then I saw this pharaoh statue, I started climbing up the statue ( I am very silly that time). As I reached the top, I stretched my legs and hands.Suddenly something came to my head.
Since the days of the ancient Greeks, music has been an integral part of drama and theatre. Many composers wrote music to accompany plays, and sometimes the music became more well-known than the play it was written for … It
This is a must watch Broadway show that makes your fine, terrible, or even boring day, an absolute blast. The Play That Goes Wrong has finally made its way to America and right at the heart of New York City near Times Square at the Lyceum Theatre. Therefore, the experience is a win-win situation for the audience. The Lyceum Theatre’s architecture is astonishing as it is filled with ornaments, I also realized the letter ‘L’ around the theater, but the most interesting fact is that it is a landmark. It has a proscenium stage while the audience is in the orchestra, balcony, or the mezzanine seats, like where I sat, and there is barely any space if you are a tall person. My seat was near the far end of mezzanine, I couldn’t see a part of the left side of the stage, so I found myself bending sideways to see what was going on, but I saw nothing. I found the side stage lights and a side balcony blocking my view and yet I had a great time.
In the words of Gay McAuley, “for an activity to be regarded as a performance, it must involve the live presence of the performers and those witnessing it…” (McAuley, 2009, cited in Schechner, 2013, pp.38). This statement recognises the importance of both the actor and the audience for something to truly function as a performance. In addition, Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones highlights the significance of the theatrical space and how it can influence an audience stating that “on entering a theatre of any kind, a spectator walks into a specific space, one that is designed to produce a certain reaction or series of responses” (Llewellyn-Jones, 2002, pp.3). The relationship between actor, audience and theatrical space is no less important today than it was at the time of theatre during the Spanish Golden Age and the creation of Commedia dell’arte in Italy. Despite being very close geographically with theatre thriving for both in the same era, sources that explore the social, cultural and historical context of these countries and the theatre styles will bring to light the similarities and differences. This essay will analyse the staging, the behaviour of the audience as well as the challenges the actors faced, and how this directly influenced the relationship between actor, audience and theatrical space.
Throughout the play, I enjoyed the role of music used to set a comic atmosphere and replace the dialogs during comic scenes (e.g. when they chase each other around). I also thought that they made a good use of light to indicate the moment of the day the scene was happening or to set the atmosphere of the scene (e.g. pink colour during the romantic moments). Lastly, I liked the way the play ended. Even though it was a little messy with everyone running after each other off and on stage, and this policeman coming out of nowhere, which really surprised me; I couldn’t think of a better way to end the play.
The primary crime scene provides a very important aspect of the crime and that is presentation. Which is the location, condition, and position of the body in relation to the actual crime scene. This usually allows for the homicide detective to gain crucial information about the crime that took place. This allows for hypothesis early on in the investigation and it allows for the investigator to find information that is either consist with their case or it confirms inconsistency on whether or not the person was murdered there or the body was dumped. “This is especially important in equivocal death investigations, which are open to interpretation. There may be two or more meanings and the case may present as either a homicide or a suicide depending
Publics in Africa and in predominantly Muslim countries remain among the least accepting of homosexuality. In sub-Saharan Africa, at least nine-in-ten in Nigeria (98%), Senegal (96%), Ghana (96%), Uganda (96%) and Kenya (90%) believe homosexuality should not be accepted by society. Even in South Africa where, unlike in many other African countries, homosexual acts are legal and discrimination based on sexual orientation is unconstitutional, 61% say homosexuality should not be accepted by society, while just 32% say it should be accepted.
