1.1 Describe the policies and procedures of the setting relevant to promoting children and young people’s positive behaviour.
The school is “committed to doing all that we can to ensure that the children in our care are healthy, safe and enjoy emotional well-being. We also have a fundamental duty of care to the adults who work in and visit our school”.
Their main objective is to create a safe educational environment for the children to learn in to help them develop in all areas. The setting offers a variety of activities for the children to take part in which will develop areas of their holistic development which will work with the children to reach the goals set for them.
Honor, Courage, and Commitment are three core values that has changed me to become a better citizen. First of all, I follow the Navy core values, Honor Courage, and Commitment, outside of JROTC. Like; Being honorable, and having respect for others, treating everyone the same, no one is different and making hard decisions through my JROTC life. As a cadet, I learn from my mistakes. I see the world differently from others. I've noticed I always push myself to do better and I've been thinking about my life after high school, and who I want to become. JROTC is just a small step. When I first joined JROTC, I didn't expect such a dramatic change. Oh no, I didn't.
The center has stricter policies against what children can and cannot say, express, state, draw, etc. Although some of these restrictions may be enforced to prevent dangerous or unsafe conditions (such as juveniles showing territorial enemy gang signs to one another) this still stunts their learning experience. Juveniles in these centers are not guaranteed “to have pleasurable experiences” nor “to avoid nonbeneficial pain” (Young, 1990).
Every kid and person must be respected and protected as an individual with his/her own specific needs and characteristics, who at the same time will be socialising with other individuals and their needs and personalities. Thus, when all being together we have to ensure that we are supporting them as individuals as the same time we offer them a comfortable environment to develop their socialising skills

The boys and girls club have been serving children for 150 years. They have given their helping hand to millions of kids worldwide. The Boys and Girls club’s mission has always been “To enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.” The Boys and Girl’s club was formed to assist underprivileged children or children who do not live in the best environment. This organization possesses a numerous amount of goals and achievements they want for each child in the program. They provide a safe and fun environment; help create skills for the future and help children build relationships with positive adults. In addition the
Provide high quality educational and recreational programs for children and youth. Teams of caring, knowledgeable professionals plan developmentally appropriate programs that are responsive to the unique needs, abilities, and interests of children. CYP professionals foster a sense of independence, trust and responsibility within each child through understanding and respectful interactions. Likewise, through positive relationships, our programs respect and support the ideals, cultures, and values of families in their task of nurturing children and youth. We are advocates for children, families and the child and youth professionals within our programs and surrounding communities (Department of Navy, 2015, p. 1).
This moral core can be seen in Merit Badges like Citizenship in the Community, Nation, and World. Leaders have an obligation to keep the youth safe and give the parents the sense of safety for their children when not in their presence. The Boy Scouts teach the rights and responsibilities of an active citizen, but take those same rights and responsibilities away from their volunteers. There is a solution to this issue and while it may take a bold step for National Counsel it will align with what they have dictated volunteers teach to their Boy
