Winter is a great time to get outside and start some outdoor fitness training because when you are cold you burn more calories trying to stay warm. Everyone knows that if you want to lose weight you need to burn some calories and winter is a great time to do it. If you are cold your body will speed up your metabolism to help keep it warm and burn more calories in doing so. The trick when you get started with this is not to be drawn into eating high fat calorie dense foods that we tend to eat in winter and to still be sensible about not training outdoors in the rain.
Imagine getting to the start of summer and not having those four to six kilograms of extra body fat to burn off to feel good about your figure. Imagine how much better your heart and circulatory system will be if each year you maintain a healthy body with a great diet all year round.

When you become less active your muscles atrophy (shrink) and your metabolism slows down. Unlike most animals that hibernate we don’t fast for the winter, we do become inactive but we keep eating. Our body fat is our natural insulation but with modern housing, clothing and transportation we just don’t need to put on some winter weight however the natural inclination is still there. For some people they just eat because they are bored others eat to deal with emotional stress if you combine that with a natural inclination to eat high fat energy dense foods and drop your activity levels to become more sedentary then you are going to store
Damascus, Maryland usually gets 2 days of snow if not less per year. Which is why it’s essential for every kid living in Montgomery County to make the best of their snow day when it actually comes. Cross country is long distance running over natural terrain. Since there are no timeouts, substitutions, or halftimes, it is a challenging sport that requires both physical and mental strength in order to be successful. Even though it is strenuous, it has many advantages and benefits in the long run. The benefits can range from improving people’s health to relieving stress. Since it requires training and preparation, it is very rewarding after finishing a race, and runners feel that they have achieved something great.
I believe that every person should try snow skiing at least once. Snow skiing is a great activity with so many benefits, plus its really really fun! People of all ages can try it with the youngest person recorded being one year old. For me, skiing is the best sport out there and when I’m skiing it feels like I’m on another planet because everything is white from being covered with snow. Some days there is so much snow you can't even see in front of you. Those are the best days. It's such a great experience and I'll give you the motivators that keep me looking at the mountain peaks in July.

Medicine is more than simply helping others, it’s about becoming a leader in the community as well as guiding society towards a more enlightened path of enriched education and health. As aspiring physicians, we have a great deal of leverage in our communities and can influence people towards a greater good, but in order to become influential, we must become knowledgeable ourselves and learn to become prominent leaders. This is why I’m applying for this position to become a DO liaison for the sports medicine club at Midwestern University. I truly believe that is a perfect stepping stone towards becoming a better leader and a prominent member of the sports medicine community.
Best time of the year is winter! Outside side cold weather and snow storms and inside you warm up and right to my video games. With the cold weather it brings skiing, sleigh riding and snowball fights. But we can't be outside all day, we then go inside and play video games. You can talk to your friends on the Xbox and play games with each other. Skiing is the best, I don't really know how to put it in word it's just amazing.

And a bodybuilder in optimal health will make gains faster than one who isn’t. So ignore vegetables at your muscle-gaining peril. From fighting disease to revealing your washboard abs, there are so many reasons to spend more time in the produce aisle that we could fill an

If granted the opportunity to live in a Living & Learning Community my group and I would participate heavily in the community, carrying out our proposed ideas frequently. My group and I, propose “Wellness Through Athletics”. Since all eight members are not only associated with sports, but also have grown up personally around kids with special needs, we all thought it would be a great idea to pair the two together. We plan to not only visit elementary schools and play sports with the special need kids, but also teach them the values of sports and why it is so special and important to be a part of them. We would also if willing, be able to host a whiffle-ball event at Cornell College, pairing our own sport that we all love with something else
