My school received a one million dollar grant. In my opinion I have three reasons why I should use that money. The first reason is bigger classrooms, giving money to the needy, and lastly better food choices. These are very good choices in my opinion.
To begin with, my first grant is using the money for the needy. Maybe kids at my school are struggling so bad that they're embarrassed to even come to school. I don’t want anyone feeling like that. I’ll want to give the money to the kids so that they can buy clothes. Because some kids may be wearing the same thing everyday. I also want to give money to kids that don’t have food. Some kids may be so starving at home that a piece of bread would be a miracle to them. Also I would like to give money to kids for supplies like, school things, personal hygiene things, and even a nice warm bed.

Bigger classrooms would make a good impact on our rooms. Maybe we could get a couch for reading time. And do stations so that everyone could have a turn on the couch. We could make learning fun by that. So that kids would want to read because they get to sit on a comfy couch. In my opinion that sounds like a lot of fun. We could also get bigger desks, for better learning and making learning easier. We could be allowed to bring our book-bags in more often. Because some kids may not have time go back to their lockers. A Lot of kids have more classes down stairs and may not have any time to go back up to their lockers, and if they do it would make them late. Everyone has trouble getting around the classroom sometimes. Because we're so crowded. That's why I want bigger
We have cubbies were students put their belongings. We have tables that either two to three students can sit and do their work or activities. A few ways to improve my classroom would be to have a few more educational poster like of nutrition, grammar (nouns, verbs, adjectives and etc.), separating the different elementary grade levels so they near posters that would benefit them and adding activity board where students can draw or use it. The positive things in the classroom is that the room is separated into two parts so kids doing homework is in one part and kids playing is in the other part. Also, having posters that are beneficial to what kids are learning in school and the individuals’ cubbies for each student and the
If my school received a gift of $5,000 dollars I think the best way for the school to spend the money is to apply that to our Career Technical Education classes. It would give out school a better opportunity and developing student for the work force right out of highschool. Suppling those classes with certains supplies to help improve their curriculum, would be a great investment for the teachers and the students to make their job and learning environment easier. Within Hunter Huss High School most of the funding go to sports or renovations. With supplying supplies and learning materials it will help enhance the learning environment.
I will allot the grant to the Move for Hunger Organization. They are a non-profit organization that help to ensure a successful food drive for students and young adults. They provide guidance and resources otherwise not available to many people hosting food drives. Move for Hunger also safeguards any money or food raised and help to deliver it to the local food bank. In the past three years Move for Hunger has helped people like me raise over 4 million meals. Move for Hunger will use the $5,000 to help publicize the ongoing food drives by collaborating with local TV news stations, radio stations, and by sending professional ads and flyers to the person hosting the food drive. Move for Hunger will also use the grant to help raise food for their
One day in New Jersey, 1985, a teacher smelled smoke emitting from a school girls’ bathroom. After finding two girls smoking in the bathroom, the teacher brought the students to the principal’s office to decide the punishment. One girl admitted to smoking in the bathroom, but the other girl denied ever smoking on school premises. Since the second girl was a minor, she was referred to as T.L.O. (her initials) to keep her identity secret. The principal, skeptical of T.L.O., ordered to search her purse, and found evidence that T.L.O. was in possession of illegal drugs. The principal found cigarette rolling papers, a small amount of marijuana, a pipe, and several plastic bags. These findings led the principal to believe that T.L.O. was selling illegal substances to students on school premises. The school immediately took T.L.O. to the police and notified her parents about the circumstances. Only at police headquarters did
After 13 years of marriage, celebrity couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale have decided to call it quits. It is reported that 45-year-old Stefani was the one to file for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences" in her divorce petition. Stefani also denied spousal support and filed for joint custody of the couple's three sons Kingston (age 9), Zuma (age 6), and Apollo (age 1).
Conclusively, there are many more important reasons why schools in our country should adapt school dress codes. The schools that participate in the traditional wearing of uniforms, are getting a jump start in the countless number of advantages schools can get to help up their statistics. Learning that there are many minor issues of the judgmental side of the dress code, a few more issues come from the simple fact of students not having to worry about what they are wearing the next day. Additionally, teachers would not have to anguish about getting on the students about their dressing habits. Likewise, not only the teachers, but the parents as well would have a much more relaxing day and would imply the skills that the students need to help
schools more funds. I think that this is important because many schools do not have enough funds to create important, fun programs. They might be able to help pay for some students whose families won't be able to pay for field trips or for team uniforms. This can help make upgrades to the school building. For example, some schools might have to make adjustments for the driveway or classroom. Many schools might need more funds to hire more teachers for students who might needs special observation and a different teaching method.
Society commonly tells us to be ourselves or to just be unique, but if we do that and it's not the way we are “supposed” to look or feel then we are pushed to the side with everyone else that decided to step out of the box. In all three of the stories we read, they all have that one common theme, that the people and environment around us greatly determines the way we dress, think, and act. The women and men in The Crucible were all expected to be very pure and to follow the bible, although that was not the case. In The Scarlet Letter, Hester's’ daughter Pearl is shunned from the rest of the townspeople because of the clothes Hester dresses her in. Lenny in Of Mice and Men was taken advantage of because he could not fully grasp the concept of what everyone else
The article mentioning the I-Gen isn't completely wrong. However, stating that kids in school absolutely need jobs is a bit excessive. Most kids are taking ap classes, plus all the old people in the desert don't feel the need to retire quite yet, so job positions for teens in high school are given more to the older generations. Also cutting down times on items like smart phones or computers is nearly impossible, most teachers require work to be turned in online (cough cough), combined with six classes could mean a possible 3 hours on electronics for work alone. Overall, this article isn't too bad and makes some compelling points.
One reason I think we should use the large cash gift to improve our bathroom system is because there is only one bathroom in the main high school building. There is about five hundred and fifty kids on our campus. Think about that, five hundred and fifty divided by two, two hundred and seventy five girls and boys. If we only have about
Hello, My name is Sarah and I am writing to you regarding the new policy that is being adopted. The one about "Students who do not have a B average or above, can no longer participate in after school activities including any clubs or sports."
This year, the united federation of teachers, New Yorks teachers union, did a annual survey and they found out that 7,000 classrooms exceeded the limits acceptable for proper learning. Students should get more individual attention for their learning process and to be able to perform better in grades. The size of a class is very important for many schools like this one because of educational
The size of a class has had or will have a larger affect on a person’s life than most people know and affect more aspects than are visible to the human eye. A large percent of the human population will go through or has gone through, a type of schooling. The size of classes in school affects more than just a student. The faculty has to deal with size too, for example if a classroom can’t fit enough students in one class, another teacher may have to give up their room during their break time to lend the room to another teacher. There is a demand for teachers in the work force and with a more difficult working environment; it could turn people off
A quote by Joseph Goebbels goes as ‘propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident they are acting on their own will.’ The poster presented follows the alliances and rebellions of the first world war. Through the use of the salient German flag, reference and association is presented so that it is made clear about whom this poster is in favor of, consequently the American flag plastered on the crouched soldiers refers to whom they are and what country they are associated with. The same is done with the swastika symbol placed on the helmet of the upright soldier associating him with the German nation. The body positioning and language of the cowered American soldiers creates an ambience of inferiority and oppression whereas the confident stance of the
Ever since I have decided that I wanted to be a teacher, I’ve been dreaming about how I will organize my classroom. There are many things I’ve seen and learned from that make me want certain things in my future classroom. For example, the last block class I was in taught me that having a family space is important. You want to make sure that the parents and families feel welcome. After learning all about family spaces, that is something that I definitely want to make sure I have space for.
