It’s been a pleasure to spend time with Officer Trapp every Friday at D.A.R.E. He has taught us so much, and I have taken some very valuable lessons from that. D.A.R.E. has been a great experience for me, because I learned about drugs, making decisions, and new vocabulary words. Learning about Drugs was very helpful to me. Officer Trapp taught me how bad they are for you, and what they can do to you. Now I know what to do if I was offered some, and how to avoid the situation. Drugs can harm people in many ways, but they won’t affect me, because I learned that it’s never good to even think about taking some. He also taught us that we should go up to someone that takes drugs and try to get them to stop. He would also tell us facts about drugs,
I took classes on parenting, job search skills, criminal thinking, budgeting, and basic life skills. I also completed over a hundred hours of community service. At the time, I looked at these opportunities as punishments, but looking back I realize that I was learning how to lead a healthier, more productive lifestyle. I also learned skills that could not be taught in a classroom. Among the most important are: patience, tolerance, responsibility, accountability, and humility.
DECA has been an interesting experience for me, I’ve been participating in the club ever since I first shuffled into one of the meeting as a fresh faced ninth grader. I was going out my comfort zone, since business wasn’t my forte, but DECA has really turned into a formative experience for me. I learned a lot about the concepts of a subject I didn’t think I would be interested in, and I made friendships in the club – it taught me lesson about stepping out of the boundaries I set for myself to gain the rewards couldn’t, or didn’t want to, see then.
The book the Crazy Horse Electric Game can be used to teach. The book used rhetorical strategies and gives lessons about drug use. It talks about how willie abused drugs and then what the effects of that decision. Willie used the drug acid (LSD) he also tries to run away from home but realizes he can’t survive on his own and that he shouldn’t have done the drugs in the first place. This book can teach lessons on why drugs are bad for you which should be considered a learning tool for teachers to teach their students.
It taught me a lot on how to really listen to those commercials and ads on tv and better understand them. Before when I was listening to ads I really was just hearing a bunch of words but now that I know what I'm looking for they make so much more sense to me. Also I like the fact that i can pick out all the logical fallacies in the commercials now. When we first started the project i really didn't understand those but as i looked for them i realized how easy it is to see them. I also felt smarter when listening to them because of it haha. This project also made me more aware of other ways to look a subjects. I see it's important to listen to both sides of the story before deciding because everyone is really in it for themselves. It also really showed that if as a country we actually worked together we would do so much better then we

WEE WOO! WEE WOO! Here comes officer trapp. I’ve been loving having Mr. Trapp in our classroom each week. I’ve learned tonse of things about alcohol and other bad things that can hurt you.
From the first time I decided to study Psychology, I have been interested in topics related with drugs and the way in which human beings react after consuming them. In my entire life, I have only seen people drink alcohol beverages and smoke cigarettes, however, they were not addicted to those substances. Therefore, I feel that this class gave me the motivation to go to a 12-step meeting and explore the reality of people who are dealing with addiction and fighting every day to have a healthier life. I could not imagine how it was going to be, although I did not want to make people feel uncomfortable with my presence.
As a Sunnyside Police Explorer, I learned about teamwork and matured emotionally. I was able to job shadow police officers and attend a leadership academy. I had the opportunity to work with 12 team members to make sure each of us were aware of the expectations,
I really enjoyed learning about the mailroom. The mail room was were the letters going to or from the inmates were searched for drugs, pornographic material, semen bombs and what they were writing about. The envelopes are dissected, drugs are stored in the flaps of the envelope. Something that I found really odd was that the inmates were trying to send their semen through mail for whatever reason. In one case, a male inmate was trying to send his girlfriend semen through the mail in hopes to get pregnant unfortunately that is not how it works. Also, I learned that people were flying drones over the prisons yard and delivering drugs and other things to the inmates. This is not a common thing yet but the prison is taking precautionary steps towards to stopping this issue with the use of
I will be writing about what I have learned in D.A.R.E. and what i plan to use it for and what i plan to use it in the future. 1. I will be writing what I learned during D.A.R.E. I learned that to stay away from drugs, alcohol, and this does not go with stay away. But I learned that how to communicate.
Understanding how to persuade people to not abuse drugs is not always simple. Teaching people to be abstinent is hard to do because you do not know what people are really going to listen to you after the prevention program has ended. When you are learning about drug prevention as a teen it can be hard
what hes trying to teach is that dont make a stupid choice a 7 year old boy that tryed to chew and got really sick only because a 15 year old girl hade a little joke to make fun of him. down the road the boy will keep getting more sick if he keeps trying to chew he is destorying is body with for ever lasting drug that is hard to quit. and is a every last damnge on his body dont do stupid
The first important topic we learned about in D.A.R.E was on drugs and alcohol and how not to abuse them. We learned many important things, such as the effects of drugs and alcohol on the mind and body and how a great number deaths occur
Trained uniformed officers who introduce the program to 5th and 6th graders teach the program. The officers inform them about the dangers of all drugs from Tylenol to heroine. The program develops rapport between officers
I think it was interesting to learn about the difference between drugs that are stimulants and depressants. I have always thought that all drugs have similar effects on the body such as producing an euphoric feeling, which I assumed is what attracted drug addicts in the first place. It is also very interesting to see all the detrimental effects that drugs have on the body, but drug addicts are still willing to ingest it just to have a temporary, pleasurable feeling. Depending on a person’s background, they could be more prone to developing a drug addiction. Biologically, if one of your parents is an addict, you are more likely to become one. Psychologically, depending on your viewpoint of the world or how you were raised, you may believe that
