To a second grade student focused only on the here and now continued learning might be difficult to explain. I would start by asking them what they believe happens after the completion of 5th grade. When I myself was in the second grade I had no idea what happens and I really didn’t seem to care. Next, I would explain how after fifth grade a student will then move on to middle school and then after that into high school. I would explain that all of these years together will get them prepared to live as an adult and possibly even continue their education into undergraduate, graduate, and even doctorate studies. I would explain that after high school students could begin learning about subjects that matter to them to help them become veterinarians, and teachers, and even astronauts. Then I would point out how important it is for them to focus on school and activities they enjoy from second grade on so that one day they will be able to have a job that they love. …show more content…
I would say that continued learning is when someone continues to learn about something they are passionate about after the required amount of school has been completed. So, whatever type school or learning you participate in after high school would fall under continued learning. For example, continued learning for a ballerina is dancing at a studio continually even after completed all the basic learning. Continued learning is important if that is going to be present in their future. I would tell them that they should pursue and continue learning about what they are passionate about because other people will notice and offer big
Each and every school presents itself with new opportunities for their students; UHS presents some of the best opportunities in the country for music students such as myself. UHS provides their students with one of the best music programs available in California. This is one of the many reasons I long to attend UHS. As a violinist I want the best way to improve, along with honing my skills and University High School is the best place to do so. In addition the small classroom, as well as the low school population sparks my interest. I believe that the enclosed environment will provide enhanced collaboration between the professor, and student. This connection between mentor and pupil is critical to victory in high school, and large schools with
When I first started high school I hated it, I felt like it was a lot of pressure and everyone seemed to know everyone and I had just moved from Texas and came into a class where everyone knew each other. I stood out and felt very uncomfortable but as time went by I loved high school. I made lots of new friends, had great teachers that were very close to me and was succeeding in my classes. My main goal was to graduate with a good GPA, do well on my ACT and make my mom proud. Coming to Illinois was a big change from Texas, my parents separated and my dad abandoned us so my mom decided to move to Illinois because her brother lives here and would help her out financially till she was on her feet. My mom works two jobs. I am the youngest out

My main goal is to get my high school diploma, continue onto college and have a career started so I could have a better future. I will not work a minimum wage for the rest of my life in a warehouse, I
College? The one place where many people hardly decide about going to have a better education to start their lives? Why should you go to college? One article published by Holly Epstein Ojalvo, she based her article about Dale J. Stephens who is the founder of “UnCollege.” Stephens made “UnCollege” for individuals to find their own way to success without college. Another news writer Jennifer Ludden, published a different article “Going to College May Cost You, But So Will Skipping It.” Ludden’s article was completely financial. Ludden describes the different between attending college and missing it. Ludden talks about a gap between college and non-college students. How an average college graduate makes about $17,500 per year and that gaps keeps increasing yearly.
Why is college so important? Why would anyone want or need to spend so much time or more money than they could ever afford to receive a piece of paper saying they attended college for the last four years of there life and that they are somehow more important than the ones who didn’t? Why be in debt for countless years after graduation, having to spend a large portion of your valuable life paying off your loans and whatever the university in which you attended consumed from you? Is the education you’re getting out of everything all worth it? Crazy as it may seem, the answer is simple. Yes.
There was many reasons why I decide to attend college. I am extremely tired of applying for distinctive positions and being rejected for not having a degree. I'm a supervisor now over thirty employees when I see different positions opening in management or higher position. I apply on behalf of the job, gain being interviewed for my experience. Nevertheless, not having a college degree really afflicts me. As a result, I decided to attend college and further my education.
Even though I gained admission to all the colleges I applied to after high school, my parents were not able to raise enough money to cover for my school expenses. I stayed home for some time trying to help my parents raise enough money for school. I’m the first generation student in my family and coming from a family living under low income and struggle to put food on the table, we knew the only way to come out of this situation is through college education and that is what I'm committed to do.
School, a routine that I have to complete, every day, five days a week. Each one of those days I carry my bag, my purple and pink diamond patterned backpack to store everything from the most insignificant items like tissues and gum to the important ones like pencils and books. All these things I carry, help get me through high school and to reach one of my next goals of going to college. My folders, stuffed to the brim, shredded, ripped, that have papers falling out of all sides, hold all my important notes and assignments that need to be saved to study for finals. My extra daily contacts, located in the mid sized pocket of my bag, with prescription -3.50 and -4.25, that are ready to replace any that fall out, so I can read the board and store
It takes lots of hard work, education, and dedication to become a veterinarian. A veterinarian, or vet, is a doctor that treats and diagnoses animals. When your animal is sick, hurt, or you are in need of medical advice you take your pet to the vet. When I graduate high school, I plan on going to school to be a vet.
do you think it's important to go to college straight out of high school ?
“Every great accomplishment was believed to be impossible at one time”-Unknown. That is a great quote to live by. There are many things I would accomplish in my life. To start, I would like to accomplish getting all A's in my eighth grade year. I want to graduate high school. I also would like to go to medical school to become a hospitalist.
As my senior year began I was currently enrolling into different colleges, Canisius College being one of them. Alot of questions were asked while enrolling such as, why would I be a good fit to the college, what are my interest, and of course what would be my preference in major. I was undecided and overwhelmed. I constantly changed my choice and told individuals different majors I could be interested in. Each day I enrolled into a new school, my major would be different, one day I would be into law, the next day forensics, the next week psychology, and then dentistry. Two different motivations that pushed me towards my major in adolescent education was my National Honor Society advisor and my favorite movie “Freedom Writers.”
I believe it would be smarter to keep your General Ed going after high school because it is all still new and you’ve learned it recently which would better your chances in passing college exams and classes. Areas of General Ed I am most interested in are History and Science. Projects in those subjects are always fun and interesting. Although it can be fun, it is most important to get your work done. The best thing to do is finish all of the work before the deadline and then make the lesson you are teaching fun. I am always focused on completing my work and having it done by the deadlines and no later than the deadlines. I am also really good at respecting my teachers while not interrupting their lessons or disrespecting them. If you expect
One of the biggest decisions that I have made in my life has been where to go to college. Our counselors were telling us from the tenth grade to have our colleges picked out and start doing well on the SATs. I knew even from that age I wanted to go into engineering, I loved to work with my hands and always wanted to help build new things. I did not know at the time which type of engineering or which school that I wanted to go into.
Organizations are complex and involve an array of job functions and people and as such, organizational roles are just as unique as the individuals that are in those roles. Organizations much like people have a personality, which is very important. Some positions are socially intensive and other positions are solitary and involve working with things rather than people. Extroverts for the most part, like working with people and most introverts prefer working on their own and like to stay away from the hustle and bustle of day to day interactions (Cooper, 2013). Why is it that some people prefer one job over another? Some individuals choose marketing because they enjoy interacting with people and building relationships, and others choose accounting because it provides less interaction with people and focuses more on things instead. Why do we choose the careers that we do? Does our personality play a role in which roles we are attracted to in an organization? More importantly though, do personality characteristics and traits provide a structure for the types of organizational positions that individuals are best suited for? It’s not hard to decipher that employers want the best from their employees. An individual’s occupation is a large part of life and it could be said that most individuals define themselves based on the organizational role in which they belong. For most individuals in society, an organizational role gives a sense of purpose. It is crucial to make
