Gun control There are a lot of different opinions on gun control. Some people think we should have gun control and strongly support it. I for one am not one of those people. I strongly believe that gun control would not work. Guns are not weapons they are tools used to protect your self, it is not the fault of a good samaritan that an unlawful samaritan uses them in the wrong ways. Guns are not the problem it is the people that get a hold of them. A gun can not fire a bullet its self just like a car can not drive its self. Gun control is all around a bad idea firstly people will always find ways to get guns. There are millions of ways to get guns illegally and usually the people getting them illegally are the ones that are planning on harming others. There is really no way to control guns. Putting gun control would do more damage than good you would be hurting the decent people that actually follow the law on getting them the correct way, they get their background checks and register there guns. Some people think putting gun control would reduce gun violence. But I feel like it would do quit the opposite. Putting gun control would really only affect good samaritans. And taking there guns would only hurt them and leave them with no way to defend themselves. …show more content…
Sadly to say like schools. The Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting happened on December 14, 2012, in Newtown, Connecticut, when 20 year old Adam Lanza fatally shot 20 children, as well as six adult. If one person in the school would have had a gun that number could have been reduced and the shooter could have been stopped sooner. But once again a school is a gun free zones so the good civilians that followed that law ended up being harmed. But who did not follow that rule? A civilian that was going in to do harm to others, that was doing something illegal. Which just goes to show that you'd be hurting good
Gun control should not be affect because it goes against our 2nd amendment right as us citizens. They made that amendment because we have the right to protect ourselves if the need arises. It would be unconstitutional if they took that away from us. People say that it is going to lower the crime rates. If they take It away its going to cause people to buy them illegally and cause the crime
One of the main topics concerning gun control is crime rate. Crime rate could increase if guns are banned. It is so easy for criminals to get their hands on guns, whether they are illegal or not. Guns are not the problem in the country, it is the person with the weapon. It does not matter how much the government regulates gun control, they cannot regulate the people. Banning guns will not stop crime rate from going up. The U.S. has an estimated amount of 220+ million guns and machine tools, so criminals can easily make their own weapons (“Will You Be”). The United States will only be in more trouble if guns are banned. Banning guns does not mean criminals will automatically stop what they are doing. Most criminals illegally make and buy their own weapons, anyway. Most of the crimes committed are not with the use of a gun. Many are used with different types of weapons or tools. “Getting rid of guns does not get rid of violence. Some people think that
There have been many incidents in the past based on the lack of gun control. These incidents range from an incident with one other person to mass shootings. There are three big issues that woke up our society: the Trayvon Martin case, the Colorado movie theater murders, and recently the San Bernardino shooting. These incidents will help illustrate the reasons why we need stricter gun control.
Not having gun control will have less accidental deaths. People need to learn more about guns. It is good to have some gun education so you know all the information that will help you learn how to protect and how to
We as a country have been caught up lately in the idea that we need to take away people's guns in order to make people safer. Adolf Hitler once said, “To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens (Quotes About).” Do I really need to explain where history seems to be repeating here. What people do not seem to understand is that by trying to control guns, you are just making it easier for those who would mean to do harm to get away with it. This is especially true in states with really strict gun laws.
Mass shootings are devastating, but even if they take all of the firearms away there are still multiple ways to kill in large numbers. On November 1st ,2017 a terrorist attack happened in New York City killing 8 people. In that attack, there was a truck used to kill those people. There were not any guns involved until the police arrived of course. If the laws were passed for people not to have guns, and the police showed up with just a taser, who is to say that the man who aimed to kill would have stopped when they police arrived? Maybe he would have killed more if the police didn’t have guns. There was also another very bad incident that happened on September 11 2001. A man took over an airplane with many people on board, and crashed it into one of the twin towers where many people were. Many people lost their lives in that incident, and yet no one was killed with a firearm.
Gun Control will infringe the second amendment of the constitution. It states that "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed"(ProCon 4). The Constitution is what built our country; we need to stick to it, and keep our rights. Guns Rights should not be limited or restricted; the people who use the weapons are the ones who are the ones at fault!
Gun control is a big topic in the United States today, a lot of people have many different opinions on this. They are usually about whether we should we have gun control or not. We should not need gun control to solve crime in the United States. We need laws, background checks and more. The conversation about gun control will continue on as long as guns are made and used.
I think having gun control will keep people safer and help prevent school shootings. In April 15, 1993 Acushnet Elementary school, in Massachusetts a 44 year old man shot and killed the school nurse and took hostages, my mother and my aunt were both in the school at the time. It caused an emotional impact on both of them, my mom doesn't like guns and she fears them, my aunt is also afraid of them too. Another emotional impact is Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. It the sadness hit around the world, and everybody was very upset a 20 year old man went to Sandy Hook and shot and killed 20 first graders and 6 adults, he then killed himself. When everybody heard about this shooting it was very upsetting. It affected how people felt about guns, they feared them more, they feared their
Gun Control is a debatable method to reduce gun violence and many people 's perspectives vary. “Gun control is a broad term that covers many kinds of restrictions. It can include regulations about what firearms can be bought and sold and who can and can’t possess them or sell them and also the ammunition that you have to buy” (New York Times). However, Gun Control is a horrific method to resolve Gun Violence this opinion has been proven by numerous professionals. Gun Control is an awful method because it didn 't work in other countries, People that shouldn 't possess guns will still have access to them, and Guns break the second amendment and violent people 's sense of safety.
Gun control has been a highly controversial issue for the past several decades. Gun control is a very broad term, and can have many different interpretations. Some individuals believe gun control will ban the use and possession of firearms all together. Others may believe it just bans certain parts of a gun such as high capacity magazines, silencers, and flash suppressors. Both interpretations above are forms gun control. However, the true definition of gun control is “regulation of selling, owning, and using guns” (merriam-webster.com). Placing more restrictions on purchasing, owning, and using firearms is an ineffective way to end gun violence. Gun control will be ineffective because it will violate the second amendment, federal and state laws have already proven to be ineffective, and increased restrictions will not prevent mass shootings. Before getting into how gun control is ineffective, some commonly misused firearm terminology should be presented.
Gun control in america has been a problem for many years now. We have 24 hours in a day which may seem like a lot but it’s not. Most people either go to work for half of the day or they are enrolled in school which leaves us with only a limited amount of time when we get home. Most likely the people who do buy guns does neither of these two things. Guns should not be allowed to american citizens because you never know what they are pondering about using the gun for. The best part about not allowing guns for citizens to use is that the rate of robborys, break ins, or even murders will decrease in america. This will make the jobs of police officers easier and more efficient. Guns should only be used for the army so they can protect our country.
Everyone has heard about proposals for gun control in the US, but how will it work and is it really necessary? I selected this topic because gun control would strongly affect my family. I already know that gun control would be going against the second amendment and that it would be pointless to even try to control them. In my opinion, gun control would turn out to be exactly like the war on drugs. It will be a waste of money and time. People still manage to get drugs, and they will just as easily be able to get guns.
First off, gun control is one of the most stunning and intriguing topics discussed in the United States today. Gun control should only be for criminals they should not take guns away from innocent people. Criminals should not be allowed to carry guns in public as protection because they may harm others, use it for illegal purposes, and with no federal law.
More gun control can save the lives of people. Most people who suggest no gun control give many arguments to support their cause, but one of the most common is, "Guns don 't kill people, people kill people." ("Rolling Stone", 2015) There are many reasons why this statement is wrong. One reason is that this is not true because guns kill people no matter who pulls the trigger of the gun. Also, it doesn 't matter how much hate is in the man who pulls the trigger, like in a mass shooting, the absolute amount of damage a gun can do in a span of five to ten minutes is tremendous, thus giving the reason to limit the type of guns that one get obtain.
