I would like to be considered to receive the Catholic Daughters of America College Scholarship for a variety of reasons. One of the reasons is that I highly value education and have proved to be a dedicated student. I will graduate at the top of class and have received recognition for excelling in my educational path throughout high school. I have the skills that are needed to be successful in the college setting. I also plan on attending a private college, which can be more expensive than public colleges. The scholarship will be utilized to offset the cost. I feel that this private college is the ideal setting to be able to focus on the academic field I want to obtain a degree in. It also has more opportunities for service to others.
I believe I deserve the A.R.S.S.B Dean’s Student Advisory Scholarship because I am a hardworking student in the business field. I strive to improve myself daily, using the resources I am given throughout our campus. I make a great effort to always staying updated when it comes to any events dealing with the School of Business or TAMIU. Although, I am not involved in the A.R.S.S.B Dean’s Student Advisory Council, I hope to get involved with this program next semester that way I may gain experience and develop stronger work ethic skills. I believe I would be a great recipient for this scholarship based off my dedication to my work studies, and my will to be involved with TAMIU. Although I am classified as a Junior, it is my first year in college,
Waking up on a daily basis and making real of what i have to face is my motivation. Living with a family who neglected me and not getting help when I needed it the most are some reasons that have never stopped me achieving my goals in life. My father would punish my siblings and me by making us go days without eating. There were times were I was too weak to even go to school. On the other hand, extracurricular activities have always been a part of what made me feel like I had a family. Being part of a team means that people are there to support and encourage, even if a person has history with another. I believe I deserve this scholarship because I wake up everyday facing good or bad, negative or positive in the world. I am a high achieving
I would like to be considered for an additional scholarship due to not only financial reasons but because I believe I can become a model Honors College student. I'm actively involved in multiple organizations on campus, I work part-time as a student assistant with the Honors College along with making sure I get good grades.
I would use this scholarship to further my education and dream of becoming a surgeon. I have volunteered at St. Anthony Hospital since October 2016 in the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) and the OR (Operating Room). I have over 500+ hours volunteering and in conjunction with that I have done a 100-hour internship over the summer. In the PACU, I work with nurses and I get to observe patients waking up from surgery. I help the nurses with anything they need like monitoring a patient, getting family members, cleaning bays, and answering phones. I help out in the OR by cleaning and stocking. It is fulfilling not only because I help the nurses out a lot, but also because I have a passion for the medical field. I started volunteering because of my interest in the medical field
I believe that I should receive a scholarship, because it would give me something else I should fight for and strive to get. It will give me something to challenge myself with. I feel like if I work hard and get these scholarships, it can show people that as long as you work hard for what you want, there is a high chance that you will achieve it. I feel like if I was given a scholarship it would help me get really far in collage life without worry about paying off loans.
Leadership and service, both as part of and in a community, invariably determine the result of actions taken, and ultimately, the success of such a community. Leadership is about taking the first step while service revolves around taking the necessary steps that result. I am a passionate student mainly because during my life I have seen firsthand the effects of not working hard and momentarily losing hope. My goal is to harness my past experiences as motivation to improve the lives and care for others effectively. I believe I am one of the best candidates for the Rev Dr. James and Aretha Rogers Education and Scholarship Fund because my passion, dreams, and aspirations are only fundamentals to my hard work ethic; this scholarship would allow me to be prepared for college and a give me a great sense of honor.
First generation college students, are just trying to be different than the rest of their family. They are trying to better themselves from what they grew up with, or at least for me, I am. I deserve this scholarship because I am trying to beat the odds. I am trying to overcome my environment, I want to be more than just what I was born into, I just want to exceed, and show how capable I can be.
I should be considered for this scholarship due to that as a result of my personal goals and qualities I seek to improve my campus and community and in ten years I hope to have radically improve my campus and self. This scholarship will assist me in affording an institution that will grow my mind and achieve my goals of inclusion and diversity.
I should be awarded this scholarship because I passionately believe that learning and personal development are crucially important. When I was 12 years old, I began to teach myself to use programming languages and software frameworks to create applications and build websites as a hobby. As a visual and tactile learner, most of my acquired knowledge at that time had come from online videos, forums, and blogs. Throughout high school, I excelled as a student adviser for my programming classes and became the team captain of my high school’s competitive robotics team. During my senior year, I orchestrated and lead a small group of students to rebuild our hometown’s public website as a community project. Now I am a full-time student at the University
As a student with socioeconomic disadvantages, going to Baylor may seem to some as an unfounded idea. However, with determination and hard work, I believe it is an attainable goal. My freshman year, I went through struggles that most people would not understand and became homeless. Therefore, throughout high school, I did not have family around like most students to help with school work and to provide financial assistance. However, despite these disadvantages I have risen top be a great student and was accepted into Baylor despite the odds, but still leaving me with the task of paying for college on my own shoulders. Receiving this scholarship would be vastly beneficial, greatly appreciated, and would not got to waste.
I believe I should be considered for the local scholarship for many reasons. One reason being that I am a twin sister. Having to pay college tuition for two children at the same time might not be the most pleasurable thing for my parents. I am trying my hardest to collect as much scholarship money as I can to help my parents. I don't want to put them through any additional hassle of having to pay not only for my education tuition but as well as my sisters; while still having to paying bills, groceries and any other necessity that are required. Not to mention that my parents work together in an entrepreneur business, which means that they don’t receive separate paychecks, the money that they make is one single paycheck. This scholarship will
“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure” (Bill Cosby). Reflecting back on my life I have dealt with numerous downfalls but I always bounce back. I was born in India and moved here when I was six years old. As I grew up in California I was not a bright student at first. I was enrolled in Carmichael Elementary in which I was the only one with Turban on my head, which caused me to get into a lot of fights with other students who were making fun of turban. Not knowing how to speak English at the time affected the way interacted with teachers and students. On the other hand my family always had a tight budget at home. Both of my parents worked at the store we owned which was the only source money. At school kids were always talking about their new shoes and the iPod which his or her parents got them. I didn’t get everything I wanted as a kid but as I got older I understand if did I could be a spoiled brat. When I moved from Carmichael to Sacramento and I was enrolled at Maeola R. Beitzel elementary. Going to this new school I already learned English so I made marvelous friends and was surrounded by positive people. Going from a chaos environment to this harmonious environment in part because I was speaking English, made me have unique personality .I was playing sports and growing as a student. Those years went by in no time. Now I am in high school and my family’s income has been growing. My mom changed her work to now at Jack in
I believe I should be awarded one of your scholarships because I believe in taking advantage of every opportunity that the scholarship will bestow upon me. I am a student that believes in working hard, being a positive influence, and giving back to the community. Your organization and I share these core values and I would like to take our vision further by using this scholarship to advance my education as well as an opportunity to improve the lives of those around me. As an immigrant from Nepal, I have had to work hard my whole life just to survive in America. Working multiple jobs while attending school is a tough challenge that I face but I believe that if one works hard their dreams can come true. Many people from my community give up
I would like to receive this scholarship for multiple reasons. This scholarship will help me to further my college education, help pay for college and to help me become more financially stable.
I believe I deserve this scholarship for numerous reasons. I am a hard working person, who always strives to do my best, and tackles any challenge posed with the ambition. My greatest desire is to become a successful engineer, however the financial burden that college bares is too great an obstacle to conquer on my own. I believe I deserve this scholarship, because investing in mem would be investing in the future.
