For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be someone who helped others effortlessly. Whether it be in second grade helping a classmate up with freshly scuffed knees, or senior year helping a struggling classmate with a Calculus problem, I have wanted to be there to assist people. Throughout my eighteen years of life, I have learned that we all need to care for one another. When my brother passed away nine years ago, I had to be there for family and help make them strong again. This is why I want to pursue a career in Nursing. I want to help make people strong, help them persevere, and help them in their journey of life. My journey towards obtaining a Nursing degree will begin at Carlow University. My first step towards my goal is to achieve
Nursing is more than traveling room to room, patient to patient, to provide medical care. Nursing is about treating the patient with the utmost respect and compassion. It’s more than providing medical care, but supporting the patient and family. Being a nurse only requires a bachelor degree and a “RN” badge, however, a great nurse possesses that knowledge, along with determination, a positive attitude, compassion, and patience. I believe that I display these characteristics and have a true passion for helping others. Throughout high school, I always had an interest in the medical field and biology. In my junior year, I decided to enroll in the CNA course to pursue my passion for nursing early on. Through this class, I experienced moments of self discovery
My name is Carmen Clipner. I am a junior attending Ohio University Zanesville. I am studying to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I am going on thirty and I was in school before for with this same career choice, but I decided at that time that I was not sure that it was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life so I dropped out. Now I’m for sure this is what I’m meant to do and it has been a long journey and is going to be well worth it in the end. I want to help people and be a part of saving people’s lives and feel like I made a difference in my lifetime and that my time was well spent and meaningful. My goal
If I had to pick a major right now it would be nursing for a number of different reasons. The main reasons I would choose nursing is because I like interacting with people and over the years my people skills have flourished. I tend to also find myself caring for others whether that be physical needs or emotional needs. This major has many different avenues of opportunities from working at a doctor’s office, to a hospital, and the range of people varies as well from kids to elderly people. As of right now I am pretty certain that I want to pursue this major as I continue going to school, but I have entertained the thought of selecting another major such as business or even becoming a veterinarian.
My initial interest in nursing began from my experience with my grandmother. It was in the fall of 2007 when my grandmother was sent to the hospital due to hypernatremia. My dad would pick me up every afternoon from school to visit my grandmother. I was given the responsibility to look after my grandma for nearly two weeks that includes in feeding her, assisting her, and other light duties. What fascinate me during my visits in the hospital were the nurses who assisted and took care of my grandma. They treated my grandma with dignity, kindness, compassion, courtesy, respect, understanding, and love. Their commitment, professionalism, dedication, determination and skills inspired me to pursue a career in the medical field. From that point, I realized that nursing is a field that enables people impact other people’s lives and make a difference. At 9 years old, being a nurse was a childhood dream and now I am at the point of turning my dream into reality. I want to study and pursue my dream registered nursing at Ryerson University that offers a nursing degree program that focuses on developing student’s critical thinking skills, ability to analyze reflectively and apply theory through community health focused practice making Ryerson one of the best nursing schools in Canada.
Notre Dame’s foundation year in Nursing will benefit and affect my future by teaching me the bases for academic and tertiary learning and the fundamentals in nursing. In one year I see myself being fully aware of what’s expected in the field of nursing and to be more educated as to how to deal with it. Other goals I hope to accomplish during this course are: having contact with and learning more about the professional world and the work sphere, to learn more about nursing and how it impacts and aids the functioning of a successful community and to learn about how I can make a difference to people in need.
The past two years in the community college have been great. I have learned a lot from my well respected instructors and my peers. So now, I want to transfer to a four year college and continue to grow, broaden my understandings and improve my communication skills. Now I'm about to complete my associate in science program at Trident Technical College, in Charleston, South Carolina, where I have been successful academically and socially. During this time I was a peer tutor which furthered my knowledge of the United States and its culture all while working part time jobs. These experiences have contributed to my education as a whole. My goal is to transfer to a university and attain my bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Becoming a nurse is a goal that I have had for quite some time having seen the lack of healthcare in a developing country and the vast needs of the people. I believe it is a great profession that would allow me to be a catalyst for change while allowing me to show compassion to people and help them. Saving other people’s lives is a great incentive for me, because I came from coming from a country where people die from contaminated water, lack of food, clothing and less than sanitary conditions in some areas. Once I finish my BSN, I want to pass the knowledge I've learned to others and help those who are in need. I want to be able to help the people of the United States and Africa, especially my country home, Ethiopia. It is sad to see people not getting treatments and dying of disease. I believe completing my degree in nursing will provide me with essential tools to help bring that dream to accomplishment. Apart from my career goals, I want to enjoy life and be a positive influence in my
The institution that I have decided to attend is the University of Central Florida. The main reason why I chose this school was because it will help me save money and I won’t need to travel anywhere to get my degree. Another big reason as to why I chose this school is because they have many great programs that will help me be better prepared when I begin my career such as their Modeling, Stimulation, and Training Epicenter which is used to prepare nursing students with different types of scenarios that they might face while working and also helps them work hands on rather than watching someone else do the job. UCF was also a good choice because their Medical Mission trips could help me and other nursing students travel to other places in the
In a introduction your required to add the topic sentence and the main points to follow the introduction you can start off using the basic thesis and main points added to get the introduction started I use the basic introduction because I have trouble when writing and using a question is a more advanced way to start off a paper. In my final essay I plan to involve a question to make my essay start off different then I usually start to change up my way of doing a essay and try something new to make myself a better writer. My example of starting off my essay will say"What is my reason for joining the nursing field"?Using this start to write my essay shows I'm going to write about why I plan to join the field and show the main points and details
Growing up, I always had the need for being useful and helping someone in my life.As I grew older I searched for careers that assists others, and there are numerous.I narrowed my interest down, and this was when I volunteered at the senior center.Being there with the elderly made me realize that I desired a career that involves helping the older population. At the senior center I got to interact with every person there, and grew a bond with them. They made me feel like my presents everyday was necessary to them, and made me want to be there no matter situation.I would help the them to the restroom and served them breakfast every morning, and clean up after the seniors at the end of the day.Of course I did simple task, but I was still helping the seniors,so I was pleased.
Several reasons come to mind when asked why I am interested in nursing. The overall complexity of the nursing field is my biggest interest. There are so many subfields of nursing, techniques, and opportunities available. With the medical field advancing each day; the learning opportunities are basically unlimited. I am interested in the fact that I can specialize in one area but, I am also able to look into other specialties of nursing if it catches my interest. Being able to enter a career with unless opportunities is critical.
I think my strong desire to be in a position to help and teach will help me achieve my goals in my nursing career. I remember how my experience in nursing school was and how I felt the instructors were there to hinder more than help. I want to make a positive impact on nursing students and their outlook on their future nursing career.
Nursing is an exhilarating career that involves medicine and still allows someone to have a family, to have a life. The thought of studying a profession in the medical field has appealed to me since I was a young child. As I got older, I realized that studying medicine is very rigorous and to be a surgeon, my original goal, would equate to me working all day almost every day for years straight. At that point I was crestfallen, I had dreamed of studying medicine from early adolescence but I would lose what is most crucial to me, time with my family. My family is not very large, but it is very close knit. It was in the presence of my family that I realized nursing may very well be the choice for me to study. During my time in high school, I have
Caring for others has always been a passion of mine, and becoming a nurse has always been my dream. While my dream has turned reality, I can say that nursing has blessed me with the opportunity to not only be a servant to those in my community, but it has also allowed me to be of some comfort to patients and their loved ones during their darkest and most vulnerable moments. Nursing offers a variety of opportunities, where the only restrictions are the ones we set for ourselves. As for myself, all things are possible, for if I want it, I strongly believe it’s already mine. The depths that I will go to reach the latitude of success that I so desire is boundless.
We live in a world where the human race seems to be disconnected. Nowadays it feels that there are not enough people helping each other. I don’t treat life like a competition I look at it and I ask myself how may I help? What may I do to make this world a more suitable place for all to live a comfortable and peaceful life? I yearn to come forward and fulfill my role and contribute to our society in any way possible. Nursing is my calling for helping others. It sounds cliché, this I know, but it’s what I desire and what I decided to do with my body, mind, and soul.
Though the career of Nursing had been of great interest to me since I was little, I always had difficulties pursuing it. As I entered my teenage years I was very hesitant in pursuing anything I wanted to do. Not only was I clueless on how to obtain the right resources; I was also clueless of the right words to say for help.
