I really admire Martin Luther King, Jr for really changing the way blacks live and how unfairly blacks were treated like giving the black people the same opportunities that whites have, Black people can drink from the same water fountain, They can sit wherever they want on public transportation, They can sit wherever they want in a restaurant without being insulted, They can go to the same schools as white people. He really had an influence on American society and non-violence and ending racial segregation in America. He used nonviolence to create racial equality, He gave african americans the freedom to express oneself, He also allowed african americans for freedom of speech and religion. Martin Luther King attended morehouse college and then went to study at Crozer Theological Seminary and Boston University. In December of 1964, Martin Luther King received the Nobel Peace Prize. In his acceptance speech he said “ I accept this award today with an abiding faith in America and an audacious faith in the future of mankind.” ( Carson). Also in his acceptance speech he said “ I refuse to accept the idea that the ‘isness’ of man’s present nature makes him morally incapable of reaching up for the eternal ( Carson). Also in his acceptance speech he said “ I refuse to accept the idea that the ‘isness’ of man’s present nature makes him morally incapable of reaching up for the eternal ‘oughtness’ that forever confronts him”. ( Carson). He was also a baptist minister that played a key role in the American civil rights movement from the mid- 1950’s until his assassination in 1968.
