Martin Luther King Jr. was a man who believed in social and racial equality. Throughout his life he has proved to be a leader who stood out in the crowd, willing to sacrifice his life to achieve his dream; thinking of others before himself. Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. King, a Baptist minister and civil-rights activist, had a seismic impact on race relations in the United States, beginning in the mid-1950s. Among his many efforts, King headed the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Through his activism and inspirational speeches he played a pivotal role in ending the legal segregation of African-American citizens in the United States, as well as the creation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. King received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, among several other honors. He was assassinated in April 1968, and continues to be remembered as one of the most influential and inspirational African-American leaders in history.

A single shot rang out as almost instantaneously Martin Luther King Jr. fell to the ground while standing on the second-floor near the balcony at the Lorraine Hotel. After the shot rang out everyone within his immediate area also fell to the ground with anticipation of a second shot to be fired; which never came. There King lies on the ground while onlookers helplessly stood as they search with wondering eyes to determine where the shot came from. This day was April 4, 1968, at approximately 6 pm. On this, the day hearts and minds were marred for the future.  As Martin Luther King Jr. stood on the second-floor balcony of the Lorraine Hotel having a conversation with someone in the courtyard below, his speech foretelling of his death rang true.

Michael King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, in Atlanta, Georgia. Martin Luther king Jr was the middle child. His parents name were, Michael king sr. and Alberta Williams king. Martin Luther King had an older sister, her name was Willie Christine, and he had a younger brother named, Alfred Daniel. When king was growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, He entered public school when he was 5 years old. King went to Booker T. Washington high school. They said that he was an intelligent student. He skipped ninth and eleventh grade. He quickly entered Morehouse College when he was 15. After Martin Luther King graduated from college in 1948, he entered Crozier Theological seminary in Pennsylvania. He then earned a bachelor of divinity degree. He also

He was one of the most important black leaders in history. King kept moving forward, regardless of the obstacles he faced. He ran fast and he gasped for breath, but even then he didn't stop, he flew instead. This man gave the “ ‘ I have a dream’ “ speech. He is a leader whose is known as Martin Luther King Jr. One quality that makes a good leader is for the responsibility for everyone around you. He wanted everyone to be equal, to share the same drinking fountains or sit on the same bus without thinking about what skin color you were. Martin Luther King Jr. gave his speech at Washington D.C in 1963 calling for a social reform after desegregation started Legally, the federal government have ruled that there should be no segregation and one race is not above the other, leading to his pathos and logos stance in his speech. Martin begins his speech with referring to Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation and that the african americans are still not free in this world. In August 1963, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, Martin Luther King Jr. passionately delivered his revolutionary “I Have A Dream” speech. Before thousands of black and white Americans, King called for racial equality and urged his fellow brothers and sisters to unite as one and demand, from the American government, the justice promised to them by Lincoln one hundred years prior. His varied use of antithetical metaphors angers African Americans and abolitionists, causing a social and political upheaval in relation to segregation.

Martin Luther King Jr. was born at 15 January 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. The name “Martin Luther” was actually adopted in honor of German Protestant religious leader Martin Luther. He was both a Baptist minister and social activist in US that led Civil Rights Movement to protect the rights for black people in the whole world. He was able to bring the rights of black people such as the legal segregation of African-American citizens, Civil Right Acts in 1964, and the rights for voting the presidential in 1965.

Dr. King addresses the struggles within the nation. He brings up the past of slavery and the hardships Negros endured stating, “One hundred years later, the Negro is still languished in the corners of American society and finds himself an exile in his own land. And so we've come here today to dramatize a shameful condition” (King). Martin L. King is trying to make a point about how horrendous the inequality of this nation has become throughout the century. Although the people were considered equal, the people of color were segregated, had less freedom, and were downgraded by their own society. Therefore he declares, “But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice” (King). He wants the public to open their eyes and realizes that the wrong doing should not be concealed, but it shall be revealed for all to see.

The charismatic leadership style depend on the attraction and persuasion of the leader. Charismatic leaders are driven by their beliefs and promise to their cause. In this theory of Charismatic leadership, they say that charismatic leaders act in a different way they have a special charismatic effect on their followers. They are dominant, having a strong way to influence other people to be self- confident, and have a strong sense of one’s own moral values.

One of the most acknowledged Civil Rights leaders in this history of the United States, Martin Luther King, in his empowering speech, “I Have a Dream,” proposed his desire for racial equality across the globe in a strong-minded manner. King’s purpose for both writing and orally publishing this speech was to motivate his audience into demanding racial justice and an amalgamated society for all people. He acquired a shameful but dedicated tone, as he described the horrid conditions of the past in order to show his audience why they should continue fighting for civil rights. He aimed to permanently obliterate slavery, for it was unjust and unhuman to punish another individual for no wrong doings. However, even though his speech was mostly concerning the Negro population, King designed his speech for each and every person in the nation, whatever their race, religion, or fundamental beliefs. His goal would only be accomplished, though, if the country worked together as a united, ambitious community.

In 1963 Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his most powerful speech “I Have a Dream”. He spoke about a dream of brave righteousness amongst those that contradicted those that didn’t except the truth of racial justice. He was not afraid of the aftermath of if his dream being ignored by those whose retaliation continued to promote racial repression. King’s dream condemned the wrongs of Jim Crow segregation by quoting the founding documents of American democracy. “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.” (I have a dream speech) Such words were like a knife cutting into the American people who denied African Americans their dignity.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a very powerful activist for the African Americans. Not only was he fighting for our rights to be free and to have the choice and the voice to do different things, he was also a voice for equality and for the blacks and the whites to come together as one. He wanted the nation to be together instead of apart. One day, he wrote a very powerful speech that touched many many hearts. His speech was so powerful that it is still very important in todays’ world. This speech is known as Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. This speech struck a nerve to everybody black or white. It made everybody finally listen to what the African-Americans had to say. This one, powerful speech sparked a change around the world. “The speech of the great African- American orator, preacher, humanitarian and civil rights activist, Martin Luther King (Jr.), pays more attention to the injustice, racial discrimination, oppression and inequality meted out on the blacks by whites in the American society, and shows how those issues can be resolved through a particular ideology.” (Ubong Josiah) In this speech that Martin Luther King Jr. wrote, he acknowledged the needs of African-Americans. He said and did what he had to do to touch the lives of everyone so that one day everyone would be treated the same.
