They’re Paid Too Much In 2015 the highly acclaimed NFL quarterback, Peyton Manning, received a salary of 15 million dollars for the season. That is more than most American households make in a year.(Bleacher Report) It is insane how much the pro athletes of our modern world get paid. Even if they put in hours of work and are paid accordingly to what the franchise gets, It is still way to much. Here are some reasons why: their jobs don’t contribute to society but they get paid more than people whose jobs do, they shouldn’t get paid for doing bad things and the price of entertainment is something that is just artificial so how bad do you need it.

The money that they get paid with could go to a lot of better things like finding a cure for cancer or helping the needy, but they just bath in their riches as the rest of the world watches. While they watch the players become role models and people to look up to, especially for young kids, but in most cases this is not a good thing because the people look up to people who do bad things and start doing that themselves. This creates more trouble in cities where there is professional sports teams. The pro athletes that we watch on TV should not be paid for bad behavior. Sports do not impact life so the players shouldn’t get paid like they do. If pro athletes are paid less they would become less self absorbed and start thinking about others more. This could lead to the people following in their footsteps starting to do better things creating a better atmosphere. This could make people feel better and be happier.
