I wish to attend Pratt's summer program for a multitude of reasons. I believe that going to this summer program will allow me to improve as a person and as an artist. I am currently interested in the visual arts and I want to pursue a career in the film industry. The Pratt institute excels in both fields of study and the knowledge I could gain from this experience would be of incredible value. I am interested in the film industry because I believe that there are so many stories that are waiting to be told and shared with millions of people. Film is an aspect of our society where we can free ourselves from the restrictions of today and create our own worlds. The main reason I want to be film director is to bring the stories of underrepresented
If I attend Villanova, I will make community a verb by getting involved through community service, athletics, and research. One project I am particularly interested in is Engineers Without Borders. I would like to help them in their goal of improving the quality of life in developing communities worldwide. It is not only a great travel opportunity, but I would also get to help people in need, and there’s nothing more rewarding than that. I am also interested in the Relay For Life event. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in America and my grandfather died from lung cancer when I was younger. If the cure was found, millions of lives would be saved. I would try my best to raise as much money possible to join the fight against it.
I have fallen in love with UNCW after first-hand seeing it for myself last summer. I know a lot of alumni from UNCW and have heard nothing but positive things about the school, teachers, and its courses. I am interested in majoring marketing or business and UNCW excels in both of these areas for me. In addition, it provides many courses that assist me in meeting my goals for my career. I would love to attend UNCW because it is close to my hometown but also far enough to where I can be an independent. Not only do I believe the University of North Carolina Wilmington is the right fit for me and my future career but also has every aspect that I am looking for in a college. It has the perfect location, the perfect size, very affordable, and the
Emory offered me something no other school I was accepted to could; it allowed me to study finance and film. Emory also has the perfect location. It is in Atlanta, where many movies are being filmed due to the tax credits in Georgia. This makes getting a job or internship easier. My grandparents and cousins also live in Dunwoody, 25 minutes from campus. This made me feel better about leaving home as I knew there would be people close by if I ever felt homesick. Emory is also the perfect size campus for me. It is large enough to feel like a college not a high school, but small enough to get around campus by just walking. Once here, I discovered you always run into someone you know on campus no matter where you go.
I plan to study the career path of Animation for four years. My main goal is to be involved with the Center for Animation because I have a passion for the expression of my creativity and vision through art, animation, and music that I
Being born and brought up in New Jersey, Rutgers always was known as a prestigious university. Rutgers is a place of opportunity. My brother who is a transferred into Rutgers last year, is always telling how the Criminal Justice program is amazing. He continuously tells me about the incredible classes he has had the pleasure of taking with professors such as Dr. Edem Avakame, Minteh, Shields and Adubato Associate Professor in the Rutgers School of Criminal Justice. Along with these professors, he has told me about his advisors, Lawanda Thomas and Alexandra Charles, who helped him as a transfer student adjust to being a new university student, along with showing him opportunities in networking within the Criminal Justice field by sharing news
There are three reasons that I am interested in the USC School of Cinematic Arts (SCA) Graduate Program. Firstly, the Film & Television Production MFA program at USC is one of the greatest graduation program providing its graduates with the best equipment, best professors, and best networking opportunities. Studying at SCA, students could work with faculty who are famous actors, producers, directors, media makers, and scholars whose careers and work have awarded the highest honors of their field: Oscars, Emmys, Golden Globes, NAACP Leadership Awards, etc. Moreover, there are many attractive courses in the program. Students at SCA can take a wide range of courses in this program. They have the opportunity to write, direct, produce, and edit
As I drove up to Goddard College on that cold day in April to Discover Goddard Day I knew it was the school for me. While driving and enjoying the beautiful Vermont view I began to think to myself that now is the time. I get to have some wonderful experiences at Goddard in my Forties by going back to school to get my Bachelors Degree, creating my own curriculum and staying on campus for Eight days per semester. I knew Goddard was for me.
The reason as to why I am applying for this summer program is because of the opportunity that it provides. Programs such as these gives the unique opportunity to explore multiple different career paths. But, not only does it provide a learning opportunity, it also allows a cultural one. Being able to travel and live in a foreign country at such a young age is one of the most memorable and amazing things that you can do. I believe that if accepted into this program, that I will do my very best to prove myself dedicated as a student because I want to spend my life learning and preparing myself for the real world as a careered woman. I have not yet solidified what I would like to be in the future, but as of this moment, I hope to possibly become
If i were to choose a CES school to attend, I would choose BYU Provo. Going to BYU has always been a tradition in my family, and rooting for the Cougar football team has become a common practice on fall Saturdays. Because of this tradition, I feel obliged to apply and attend. That is not the only reason why I want to receive my education there. I think that it would be a great environment for me to learn, to be involved in athletic events such as football, baseball, and basketball games, and also to be in an uplifting setting with high standards and morals to lead me in the way of righteous living. Another reason why I want to attend BYU Provo is because I have lived in Utah before and I loved it. I lived 20 minutes south of Provo so I know
I am currently planning to seek a career in the film industry. I have always had interest in almost every aspect of film-making. The planning, the actual production, and the editing are all areas where I would consider taking positions. My main passion is currently directing, and this is where I would ultimately hope to end up. I hope to get a position where I can live in a big city such as Los Angeles or New York City. But, like I stated earlier, I love the whole process and would be willing to get involved in almost any position.
New York University is located in New York City where is the hub for finance, media, commerce, entertainment, and culture. New York University is in the center of New York City. Even though there is no particular wall for the New York University, it is close to Washington Park, Greenwich Street, Broadway, and the world financial center-Wall Street. Therefore, I believe that I will have an incredible experience if I study in such a diverse place. In the New York University, students can find an internship much more easier than in other universities because New York City is the home to the most 500 Global companies and students may have the opportunity to work in those companies. However, I am not only attracted by the great location of New York University, I am also attracted by the precious majors and programs this university offered.
As someone who has had the opportunity to go be raised in a very diverse neighborhood in Northern New Jersey and to go to private, yet sundry, schools throughout my life, I have learned a great deal about multicultural competence and how to understand and value other individuals’ worldviews. My greatest experience was going to a prestigious college in the Bronx. On campus, I was surrounded by the wealthy and the poor, students who drove no more than thirty-minutes to school and those who flew from across the globe to come to Manhattan College. In the classroom, I was lucky enough to hear viewpoints and opinions from all of these individuals. Having this opportunity not only opened my eyes to what it is like in other sectors of the world, but it also helped me to expand my lens when it comes to various cultures. As a student of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, I would be able to contribute to the fulfillment of the program’s mission by being able to demonstrate to others how to open their
I was reluctant in joining the Academy because I was nervous that I wouldn’t get in. But precisely the period before my scheduled audition a ‘frienemy’ encouraged me to try out. I built the courage to walk through the audition doors and left being placed in the intermediate level; which was quite an accomplishment. Since then I have now achieved in reaching the Advance Level of the academy! My favorite memory in the academy is when my second and third period took our first trip to the Manhattan Theater Club in New York City. This trip aided tremendously in team-building and my skills of theater analysis. I am so grateful that I took the plunge and faced my fears because the Performing Arts Academy and Mrs. Baur have made me realize that my true dreams are to become an actor. The Performing Arts floor is a safe haven for many including myself, the people can drive you crazy but that's exactly what families do.
As far as film school goes, I have a lot of my friends who went to film
My initial interest in entertainment stemmed from the world I grew up in Los Angeles where so many of my neighbors, friend’s parents, and just general social community were involved in all the facets of the industry. As I have gotten older, I have really found an interest in the business behind film. From film marketing, financing, distribution to studio operations its all so fascinating. This past summer I took a course at UCLA on the Business of Blockbusters, and I got to see all the business related sides to entrainment, learn about everything from marketing to box office analysis, and hear from well-qualified and respected professionals from different areas of the entertainment industry.
