Who Is Marinnette's Journey?

In the beginning of the show Miraculous, the main character Marinnette is faced with a calling to save Paris from danger with the power of a Kwami named Tikki. She accepts the challenge, but is unsure of who she is when she transforms into miraculous ladybug but towards the end of the series, she knows exactly who she is and battles hawk moth in every episode to ensure the safety of Paris. Marinnette’s transformation from the beginning of the show to the end, is a perfect example of how a journey can change someone into their future self through the challenges their life has to offer. In Courage, written by Anne Sexton, she says, “...made you into an alien, you drank their acid... when you face old age and its natural conclusion your courage will still be shown in the little ways...” (Sexton 671). The evidence shows how when faced by the world often times people will be sucked into believing what the everyone around them thinks, however, through the journeys people are faced with, a new light shines on their own beliefs and one becomes able to tune out what others think and focus on what they believe. All in all, a journey can transform someone to realize that what the voices around them are saying isn’t what matters, it’s about they’re beliefs.
