Who I Am As A Learner Analysis

A kinesthetic learner learns best by moving their bodies to activate their large or small muscles as they learn. This definitely fits me to the T. I never sit still; my hand and mouth have to be constantly moving in order for me to focus and retain any information. After hard work I finally found out I am a kinesthetic, right brained learner. To begin, I used many tools to figure it out including a computer test and survey sheets. My favorite one was the computer test, it said i was a kinesthetic learner. On the characteristic worksheet it stated that I am mostly right brained. That made me confused because for left brain it said, “Good at math” and I’m very good at math. I am right brained because of the way I can be successful. I am better by having a partner to help me work. I always work better with a partner because I can talk through things. I love to learn when I can do it having fun. This article, "I Belong Here" was written by Amin Ahmad who was born in Calcutta, India, but now lives with his American fiancé in Boston. Amin wrote this article to show how he was treated differently at the British airport than his American fiancé, and because he was treated so differently that is when he came to the conclusion that he belonged here with the other Bangladeshi people that were at the airport. I learn best by actually finding something interesting or fun to learn about. I do not really learn by writing things down because sometimes you write something down and it is way more different than the real subject. Listening does not not help me learn also because I daydream a lot and then I do not pay attention to what is being read. Looking at pictures does a bit of the job because it helps you see things and then you will memorize them. Looking at pictures is a better way for me to learn because it is more easier to just see the pictures memorize them and then just go along with the next things. Writing things also helps me learn a bit more by just having at least relocatable notes that will help you with something later on. Sometimes I work fast and slow in my classes, it sometimes depends on how I am feeling because if I am feeling down then I do not feel like doing no work at all and if I am feeling energetic or happy i do my work and i do it very well.

Who am I as a learner? I am an Auditory Learner. Which means that I learn way better if I listen to music or if I am listening to my teacher tell me exactly what to do. I really do not like to work with other people. Especially with horrific group projects, like last year I worked with eight people for our trail project. I am used to working alone, so, I took my work home and finished exactly what only I, Karlee Olson could do. Which was my speech. I really hate when I have to read my instructions because I am not a bad reader at all but I just do not like it. Unless it's a good book I LOVE reading, but if It’s not that... Heck no. I would really rather listen to someone read me a story, then me having to read it myself because stuff just makes

I am advanced in math but I get excellent grades in art too. I am very musical, I will agree with my quizzes on that. I love music and I tie an emotion to about every song I hear so I can feel exactic, angry, sad, weird, and crazy. Some aged songs that I heard with a kid take me back to when I was 5 and I remember how I danced to that song. I have a spectacular memory, so I can remember seeing things more than remembering them. I remember people’s faces more than I remember their names. I am tactile; however, I don’t necessarily need to touch something to remember it if I really know about it but it can help significantly. I have a gecko and I could see how different it’s skin was from a snake or something and an expert could describe it for me, but I couldn’t really know how it felt unless I felt it for myself. Someone could describe how their project looks and feels but I would have to see and touch it to really understand for myself how it looks and feels. I can learn by hearing, but it is not my strong suit, if Mrs. Burdick or a math teacher tried to explain how integers worked just by telling us, I most likely would have trouble remembering it and knowing what she was talking

One learner trait that I am weak at, and I need to be honest about is I am not hugely

I learned hand dexterity from elementary all the way to high school. I have always had fine motor skills when it came to my hands. I write neat and it has always been that way. I learned to observe from family. They have always taught me to watch my surrounding and be very observant. When I use to out into public my family showed me how to observe and watch out for danger. They taught me that I have to listen and be more in tune with my environment to protect myself.

For the results of my quiz, I found out that I am fifty percent auditory, forty percent visual and ten percent tactile. I agree with the results saying that I am primarily auditory and visual with my learning style. I do not receive any benefit from tactile learning experiences. For example, when in animal science class, I understood what we were doing when he explained the directions, compared to when he let us explore the lab before explaining. I appreciate when I hear directions compared to being allowed to have a hands on experience with no direction. I gain a greater understanding when I can hear what I need to do before I have to go complete a task. One strategy I believe would be effective is studying by reading new materials out loud.

Everything in life you have to think about even if you want to sit down or not so knowledgeable l is in everybody, but I think I use knowledgeable about baseball more than anything. If we never thought about things we wouldn't be living right now. I am also a visual learner because if I can’t see the stuff I do its kinda hard to do. Many people often try to associate what they have done, who goes before them, and what they are involved in with who they are. But in reality, we cannot not choose our family, our given name, but we can choose who want to be as a person and how we want to live the life we’ve been given. Often times, we are so quick to live by the labels people identify us with: a Kappa Delta, a “Madison girl”, a cheerleader, and many more that speak volume to my own existence. We, as a whole, mender through life accepting the tags that have been put us. Let us realize, though, that we are more than are labels; we, instead, are a mix of our passions, talents, and experiences, things that make us who we really are.

After, taking the test, and figuring out my learning style is tactile, I can improve myself learning. First of all, I’m going to start to participate in events that include building. How I can apply this knowledge in real life, is when I’m bored I create an activity that includes a written guide generated by me. The writing piece is not necessary, but it can help me in writing. Moreover, With building blocks or illustrations. I could construct things that could help a kinetic learner process what they have been learning. With everything prepared I can start to build .In addition, I could start/trying to draw letters to make words on my hand. For example, like the word “beginning” I would break the word into syllables, then trace

I’m mostly on the internet , which is bad I know but everyone likes the internet. I love to go on adventures and explore new things or places with my friends. One thing that I like to do is take pictures of anything artsy that I see. I feel that I am a visual learner. I like to look at examples. Looking at examples helps me better than the teacher just telling us what to do but not showing us examples. I feel as if it helps me more. I’m also an auditory learner. Spending a whole year in your class should be pretty amazing. Considering you seem like a laid back teacher. I just hope my predictions are correct. Not only are you going to see me almost every day for about 7 months, you are going to see me on my bad days, good days, and I just don’t want to be at school days.
