Throughout high school and college we will go through a vast amount of testing but why? Testing is used to show a person’s amount of knowledge on a particular subject. Usually it’s for one specific subject and not a majority of them, the standardized tests include all testable subjects as in English, math, science, writing, and reading. However, before we can all begin our college careers we have to take one of two tests, the ACT or the SAT. These two tests determine the college you get into, the amount of scholarships you will receive, and even whether or not your will be accepted into any college.

I would like to be considered for admission to this Colorado Christian University because I believe that it will be a perfect fit for me. I will have the opportunity to receive a degree and strengthen myself in the Word of God. For many years, I have been interested in studying Psychology. My interest in pursuing this field stems from many factors, but the number one reason will be my love for people. I consider myself to be big hearted and a compassionate person. God has blessed me with a caring spirit. I have love for people and I desire to be a helping hand to as many people I can reach. For many years I have found myself working with foster children or taking care of those who needed caregiver assistance and I want to go further. I believe

Booker T. Washington’s approach to fighting for equality was not the approach that the post-reconstruction era needed. Of course, his fight for equality was not a fight at all, but a compliance to southern whites in exchange for the rights he saw most important. On September 18th, 1895, Washington delivered the Speech to the Atlanta Cotton States and International Exposition. His main point: “Cast down your buckets where you are!”(American Public Media) was a comfort for the white southern conservative audience. Washington preached that black Americans have to settle and receive only some of their God-given rights.
Colleges have a plethora of ways to judge if a student is going to be successful in their establishment. Bryant University, Holy Cross, and the University of Texas at Austin represent a minute group of schools that have an optional SAT admission, with a thriving student population (Turner 1). These colleges focus on the application,
The college offers a well-rounded educational experience with high standards, with small class sizes for hands on research opportunities. The school has numerous organization and programs to ensure that each student is able to stay focus and stay on top of things with each other, socially and educationally. South Alabama is ranked as one of the top 10 schools in the nation. By the schools ranking, its research opportunity/ resources is very sufficient and state of the art. If admitted I plan to take advantage of the college experience, by joining in a few organizations such as SGA, Beta Club, and National Technical Honors and by studying all the resourceful information to become the best computer engineer I can be.
There are many factors that make USD a stand out among the other schools I am applying to. The smaller size of the school appeals to me as I believe this encourages a sense of community. With a student/faculty ratio of 15:1, I won’t just be another face. I will get to know my classmates and professors very much over the course of my 4-year degree. As a practicing Catholic, I appreciate the spiritual orientation of a Catholic school and the opportunities that it provides for both community service and leadership.
