When the third Act of the play commences, Juliet uses adverse statements to express her mixed emotions towards Romeo. When the Nurse brings the news to Juliet that Romeo has slain Tybalt, she goes through a flurry of emotions to show how she feels. At first, when the Nurse said that something tragic has happened, Juliet assumes that Romeo has committed suicide. When she does realize that Romeo has killed Tybalt, she is still able to be filled with anguish. To feed the ravening anguish inside of Juliet, the Nurse tells her that Romeo has been banished. Immediately hit with an immense amount of shock, Juliet instantly resorts to suicide. Through Juliet’s ample use of oxymora, it is apparent that she appears to have a temporary ambivalent relationship with Romeo.

For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night.” (Act 1 Scene 4, Lines 17-18) displays his strong emotions because before, Romeo was caught up with his unrequited love with a woman named Rosaline. Regardless of this, Romeo instantly forgot about Rosaline the moment he laid eyes on Juliet.
