What Are The Pillars Of NHS

NHS is an organization made up of students who regularly demonstrate the four pillars of NHS: Character, Leadership, Scholarship, and Service. Saydel’s chapter of NHS should model outstanding service and leadership within our school and community. Doing so will create a positive environment amongst our community members and students. Utilizing my strong leadership abilities, I believe I can help our chapter of NHS flourish. My strength in organization, self-determination, and ability to engage others will make me a great asset to our NHS

I want to talk for a few minutes with you about the future of NHS- what it means for you, the 200 awesome members who have contributed thousands of hours of community service in the last 30 weeks alone, changes I hope to see next year, and how I believe I’m the right person to bring about these changes. You may know me from the emails or tweets I send out to let you know about what’s happening in NHS, as this year I served as our Communications Secretary. During my time in this office, I got to know how each leader- the President, Vice-President, Tutoring Liaisons, Recording Secretaries- how they fit in and what they did to keep NHS running. Between watching what they each did and being in student council, I learned a lot about what it means

The NHS has grown to become the world’s largest publicly funded health service system since 1948(Nhs.uk, 2015).There are many issues and disputes in NHS. Each trimester I always strive to get all A’s on my final report cards and keep my GPA above a 3.5. To help me maintain good grades when I’m having a difficult time learning something. I attend after school programs to help me understand that concept and raise my grades back to my standards. Even being busy with home life and sports I always make sure I get my homework completed and if needed test remakes in on time. Another way I exemplify scholarship is by helping my classmates. I help them when they are having a hard time understanding a concept in something I understand. This helps me make sure I have learned the material and also helps another student know the material and potentially raise their grades. It was set up to ensure that everyone could have access to healthcare, despite their financial circumstances (NHS 2013a).
