After the American Revolution the newly independent colonies entered a period called the critical Period. This was called the critical period because the colonies faced many foreign and domestic issues. This called for an end to the Articles of Confederation and the creation of a new government. The constitution was put into place in 1789. The constitution provided a strong central government along with the federal system. The federal system divided the governments power into federal and state powers. However the framers knew that there would be conflicts between the federal and state governments. To do solve this problem, the framers of the constitution implemented the supremacy clause. The supremacy clause states that the constitution

Framers of the constitution chose a system of government on a territorial basis, between a central government and several states. “ the framers were worried about the government being too powerful because; government power inevitably poses a threat to individual liberty. On June 21, 1788 the constitution was ratified. Our first constitution, also known as the Articles of Confederation, was adopted towards the end of the Revolutionary War. Adopting the constitution helped us create a system of government where most of the powers were store in the states rather in the central government. The constitution pushed for a loose confederation of independent states with little power in the central government. Although the articles behold good intentions, it held no sustainability. War and peace could be made but tax could not. Trade could not be regulated. Laws passed by Congress did not ensure total enforcement. If states conflicted with one another there would be no national court system to dispute it. For a national

In order to understand the motivation of the Framers of the U.S. Constitution one must review the event leading up to it. When the war with Great Britain finally came to a close, the Colonialist of America became weary of what was to come. Many who were well versed in Tomas Hobbes and John Locke feared, without proper action and if not too long delayed, the that states would find themselves in a State of Nature.
In 1787, the constitution gave the country a federal system to be used as a guide. Before this there was only one way the government followed and it was not working. Changed needed to happen and the current way, as mentioned earlier, was failing. By holding the government accountable in this new form, it offered equal opportunity and liberty for American citizens.
The Constitution was created so one person or group wasn’t able to get too much power. At first, the Articles of Confederation was made. In article one section 8, congress is given the power to create any law necessary for the country going forward, protecting the rights of the people.
Firstly, The framers wrote the Constitution with the original intent that the philosophy of interpreting it would be strict. They wanted to clearly state exactly how the government will be set up and how the powers of it will be evenly distributed. If the framers were going to make a document that completes so many great objectives and perfects the flaws of the Articles of Confederation, why would they want the people who read the Constitution to interpret it loosely? Such a philosophy would defeat the purpose of writing a Constitution all together. The framers wanted the people who read and interpret the Constitution to understand that everything said in the document is exact and that there are no implied powers within it.
The constitution first started to provide protection over tyranny in the summer of 1787 where fifty-five delegates met in Philadelphia to help readjust the national government for the better. The task of each representative was to come together to create ideas without letting one person or any one group be in hold of too much power in order for the central government to grow stronger. The constitution had help led by the Articles of Confederation with their influence on not having a court system to make the state force a pay on taxes. The main challenge was to generate a Constitution that would be strong enough to retain possession of power for each state to a minimum so not a single person was the only one to have power or control. The guard on tyranny was supported in 4 ways federalism, separation of powers, checks and balances and small/large state compromises.
