The Holocaust: In Memory of Millions During the Holocaust, Hitler and the Nazis used propaganda posters to persue the German people to support their actions. I believe that the reason they supported their actions is because propaganda persuade large numbers of people about the truth of an idea, the value of a product, or the appropriateness of an attitude. But the poster they had said that Hitler needs you to come support him and he used different types of propaganda techniques. I do believe that there is a similar tragedy that is happening in the world today. For example, when Isis attacked Paris, the attack was on November 13, 2015. The attackers killed 130 people, they took hostages to the Bataclan theatre before engaging in a stand-off with police. Another 368 people were injured and 80–99 were seriously injured. I think that I would fall for Hitler’s youth program because if I had never learned about propaganda techniques then I wouldn’t be able to resist. …show more content…
And what the Jewish people and people who are not Jewish had to go through everyday to try to survive. I now understand more about what happened during World War II and the affect it had on people. Reading “The Diary of Anne Frank” first made me understand the conditions and struggles the Van Daans and the Franks had to go through. But watching after reading, made it easy to see the character’s life style and the way they act and how the size of the room affected their lives. My wow of this unit is that I love how this unit is different from our other units. It is mainly about a huge event that impacted many lives during and after World War II. We’re able to read and see the massive effect it had not only to the Jewish people but also the entire world. Although this unit was amazing, I do wish we would of have a small project for this
To captivate German and get his message out, Hitler targeted German Youth. According to the article “The Structures of Control in the Nazi State”, the lives of young people “were controlled both in and out of school to turn them into fanatical Nazis.” (“The Structures of Control in the Nazi State”) The youth of germany was always being shown the Nazi way of life. Nazis pumped negative information about Jews to children so they would grow up thinking the same way.
In the popular book and story of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl there are many themes present throughout her journal. It’s a touching piece of literature that puts things into perspective about family, warfare, loneliness, and selfishness. Her diary gives insight about people who are actually living in those circumstances from Anne’s point of view, resulting in a more factual story than fictional novels loosely based on true events. Anne goes through a lot during her time in the Annex, including tense arguments with her family, bombings, thieves, Peter, and Dussel moving in. The events may not seem like that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but to a young girl, it’s a huge change of events. It shows a lot from her in the way she acts, Anne’s selfishness proving that stress and war can change people to be more selfish.
The Holocaust Project is a traveling art exhibition organized/arranged as a journey into the darkness of the Holocaust and out into the light of hope. Judy Chicago and her husband, photographer Donald Woodman executed the project with the help of a number of skilled artisans and it took them eight years to finish it. The exhibition consists of a mixture of painting and photography, two stained glass windows and a tapestry.
Propaganda is information of a biased or misleading nature, used to promote a political cause or point of view. Hitler was able to use propaganda successfully throughout his reign as leader to shine light on his views, the biggest one being anti-Semitism. The Nazi party spread their propaganda through art, music, theatre, films, books, radio, educational materials and the press. Hitler used propaganda as a way of persuading German people into prejudice. Propaganda was used
Lastly, when learning about the Holocaust, a lot of things come to mind. Like how thousands of men, women, and children had their lives ripped from them. How one man (with the help of others) caused this event that had a huge impact on the world. The people who survived the Holocaust, experienced unimaginable pain. Pain we will hopefully never have to experience. We need compassion to help us when we need it most. Whether it's the passing of a loved one, or losing your home. We need
People can only imagine the terrors that the Jews and other ethnic groups had to go through during the Holocaust in World War II. With Anne Frank’s diary, people can finally put themselves into the scene and captivate all the feelings and sentiments that Anne Frank has poured onto the pages. Anne Frank, her family, and their friends were known for hiding from the German Nazis in the Secret Annex for two years from 1942-1944. Innocent and naive,
Ever since we started talking about the Holocaust, I have been interested in learning more about Dachau concentration camp. I have actually been to Dachau and I knew a small amount of information about it but now I know way more. The most surprising thing I learned about Dachau was that is was the first camp ever built, but it was not to brutally beat the prisoners but eventually turned into a prison like that. Also that if someone tried to escape, the whole prison was punished. Why learning about this matters because the Holocaust was the most tragic event to ever happen in history. Also this event is something that everyone should be educated on and know what it was like back then and what people had to go through. The part I enjoyed most
This beginning of the Holocaust created an “estimate of 11 million deaths” throughout the world and the feeling that “anything was better than being a Jew”(zusak). This caused prisoners to never have the same life again. When this turmoil wrapped up with the end of World War Two on May 8th, 1945 the world would never be the same.
The Diary of Anne Frank is a remarkably moving book about the short life of a young girl and her family. The Holocaust was a horrible time for Jewish people and Anne and her Jewish family’s lives were completely turned upside down as a result. The war resulted in the deaths of countless people, mostly innocent people. Before the invasion on D-day and the end of the war not too long after, the rest of the world didn’t know the real disaster going on over seas. Anne Frank’s once secret diary has introduced the immense suffering and horror that occurred during the Holocaust.

Britnay Hebert S. Martinez Engllish IV, 4th hour 5-1-16 Adolf Hitler Adolf Hitler, who was an Australian-born, German politician, was also Chancellor of Germany, leader of the Nazi Party, and later became dictator of Nazi Germany. He was the cause of the Holocaust, World War II in Europe, and Nazi Germany. Adolf Hitler’s use of propaganda added to the nation's discontent after World War I, and created a culture that allowed for his “final solution” to eradicate the Jewish population. In Hitler’s early years, one of his biggest dreams was to become a famous artist.
On the fourth of April, our senior class went to the holocaust museum as part of our senior class trip. There, we learned and experienced the holocaust through first-hand accounts and testimonies from the survivors of this atrocity. We had several hours to explore the four floors of this museum, but there is so many artifacts and information, you would need days to absorb it all. The entire museum is an impactful experience that makes you reflect on everything you have in your life. The most impactful thing in the museum, for me, did not come in the form of an artifact or picture, but from the people there at the museum.
The struggles that a person endures makes for a strong character. The thoughts and actions of Anne Frank that are included in her diary allowed me to change my perspective on the world forever. She has described her thoughts, worries, and dreams while hiding from the Nazis, with another Jewish family, in an annex for two years. After reading this story, I have realized that I have taken many things for granted, such as having a home, an abundant supply of food, and most importantly, freedom. Although she had a lack of many supplies, she held her head high, never gave up hope, was always optimistic, and believed the idea that all people are good at heart.
The Diary of Anne Frank gives a good example about how people from that time witnessed the things around them. Throughout the play, the characters are often experiencing new things in the world even though they are hiding in the attic. They face new challenges that also revolve around the changes in the world at that time. Anne and her family are often scared, worried, or sad in most of the story. The author uses these feeling to display what is going on in the outside world. For example, in one point of the story, there was a loud crash and the characters became worried that they have been caught by the green police. In another point in the play, Mrs. Van Daan becomes worried that the Frank family has been caught because they didn’t show up to the attic on time. In The Diary of Anne Frank, the author reflects on historical events by using the characters’ thoughts, actions, and
“The Diary of Anne Frank” is a great story that comes straight from the journal written by a young girl named Anne Frank. “The Diary of Anne Frank” has multiple themes demonstrated throughout the book. However, the most common theme is Good vs. Evil. For example, society during World War II was very much looked on as good vs. evil. You had the Germans, and you had the prisoners. The eight people hiding in the small annex from the Germans were also demonstrated as going through good and evil times. Finally, Anne is a young girl that just wants to have a normal life. Having that dream, but not being able to chase it has had a really
